I wasn't trying to defend Levy. He's obviously massively to blame for the mess we're in.
I was talking about one very specific window and situation in which Levy would've been heavily incentivised to splash the cash had he still been in charge.
It's more an indictment of Lange's incompetence than a defence of Levy.
As for the other chairman stuff - he's 64, has most of his wealth tied up in Spurs and is filthy rich. He'll float around doing consultancy wank but he'll never work as a chairman again imo.
And Levy isn't gonna try and buy out ENIC with a consortium or something. That's just nonsense.

"I wasn't trying to defend Levy."
I didn't say you were. :gallashmm:

You don't think (Daniel) Levy had other plans? :gallashmm:

Ha, sure, I did mean nothing has changed on the pitch which reflects the information put out about the Lewis clan from Peter Charrington shortly after Levy was sacked, regarding improving the actual football team.

Actually now that I've come to think of it. why would they sack Levy after the transfer window? I suppose it gives them the leeway of not having to show improvement until the end of this coming summer transfer window, because apart from Gallagher and Souza it's still Levy's players.
My guess is simply cos Ley ran most of the operation and they needed a transition period outside of a major transfer window. If you behead Levy at the start of the summer when Vinai's barely arrived there's a chance the entire club grinds to a bit of a halt given he was head of the board, negotiated transfers and ran it like a family business.

Last summer Vinai was like the equivalent of the young intern being shown the Excel spreadsheets by the seasoned old admin bird who has no idea she's lined up for the chop.

I mean your response certainly implied it.

As for your second question, I don't really see what you're getting at. Levy obviously had other plans but ENIC will only sell if they want to sell so it's all immaterial tbh.

People will fearmonger and make up conspiracy theories but no investor in their right mind would agree to put Levy back on the throne. The question is simply when does he sell his shares and extract himself completely.

I think Levy was under the impression he'd get the sort of role that Peter Charrington is now doing. What that is specifically I don't know.

So Levy had no idea that he was setting an ex gooner up to fail? :gallashmm:

If you believe that next you will be saying Paratici did everything he could to help Spurs in the January transfer window.
Every indication is Levy had no idea he was gonna be sacked. Why would he be chumming up to Vinai and chatting wine if he knew he was going to be punted to the curb weeks later?

Levy's not a fool, he must've known the Lewis kids were making changes and wanted him on a tighter leash, but I truly believe he had no idea he was gonna get sacked days after the window closed.

As McCOYS McCOYS says he probably felt he was gonna be pushed upstairs in the long term but would still retain a strong influence. He's such a stubborn bastard that he would've never just happily trained his successor and done media stuff if he truly knew he was done for. He's hardly gonna willingly humiliate himself like that.

If we stay up, we're going to need to invest a lot in the squad this summer or we can forget about the top section of the table.

GK LB RB Creative player/LW CF, most likely CB assuming Dragusin and Romero both leave, one of Richarlison or Solanke needs to go and be replaced with a general upgrade in that position. Don't ask me who, I don't know.
I fully agree with you we need to invest big.

ENIC just won't.

Interesting that apparently neither of Vinai or Lange wrote anything in the final match day programme. Someone who attended may be able to verify this?

Levy always wrote something in the final programme of the season. Maybe a sign of both being on the way out?

It's nights like this that the cheese room would have been fucking made for.

Bet the dickheads are kicking themselves for not following through with it.

They need to fuck off. Just sell up.

Certain C-suite executives you could at least see some vibe or aura about them. When the camera panned to the executive box seeing all those cunts there, none of them looked remotely competent at all. Hell knows what good karma they have gotten to be sitting there working shit and got paid millions.

My mate, who works at the design office, says that Vinai did write a piece for the programme, but they decided not to include it. He took a snap of it and sent it to me.
