Should be 4th choice CB, he's done ok but that's literally him playing at his absolute peak possible. Too clumpy and nowhere near good enough with a football at his feet. Nice bloke and all that, but this is sport not a popularity contest.
With VDV, Senesi and Vusko he will be 4th choice anyway, so that's CB's sorted for next year anyway.
Spot on. 4th choice CB if we keep VDV, bring in Senesi on a free and Vuskovic comes back from loan. People like him because he's an "honest pro" but he's limited, can't pass the ball and is prone to a fuck up. I'd play him in games where the opposition have a Chris Wood type carthorse up top.
If Senesi and Vuskovic are both in the squad then does Van de Ven play left back?

He was fantastic today, refused to let Everton score a goal. Very happy to have him in our squad.

We'd have 100% relegated if he hadn't regained fitness absolutely glad to have him. His return with RDZ coaching stopped the absolute collapse of VDV form. He is an honest pro they decry when this squad is stuffed with dishonest charlatans. Thanks Kevin. If players are judged on what they bring in their entirety not on their nominal ceiling getting a better centerback than Danso means we've done well.
Tel was playing off nothing and held it up as well as he could. No support from experienced internationals Richarlison, Solanke or RKM.
Its all in relation. Terrible season from him, but others were even worse. Richy got his goals but he was so insanely wasteful and unreliable at times. Tel did alright under these circumstances.

Yep absolutely, he's given 100%, which is more than you can say for some. Has his limitations but he's more than capable as a squad player and has a couple of things to cause opposition problems at the other end.
Its funny he got crucified for that error that lead to a goal VDV sent off when we were winning against Palace skate over it. I think I've noted an uncomfortable truth about some of our online support. We put too much stock in a players supposed best but far too little into his actual mean contribution. We need to get better at this. If Vuskovic comes in and on form relegates Danso to support on form great but it needs to be on this metric. Way too much was made of 'on a given Sunday' Romero as opposed to the Sideshow Bob we saw 40 odd weeks a year.
Danso needs to be part of any sort of leadership structure within the team next season. Doesn't matter if he is a starter or a off the bench player. He's a serious pro and his voice needs to carry weight in that dressing room.
