Player Rodrigo Bentancur

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Credit to him! Was an absolute monster under RDZ. Although, in these couple of last games I was disappointed how he just could not make anything progressive happen and on another day his stupid push could have gotten Everton a penalty. But he was huge in gretting us over the line.

I was stunned the VAR didn't give that seen how we been reffed all season. The pikeys will defo say we got helped.

As much as I think Bentancur was a massive plus in this run and doesn't deserve half the abuse he's gotten, I fully agree. Him as a backup or not enough good to be that would be a positive sign but very much doubt it happens under this board.

We should learn the lessons of the last few seasons, we need experienced players in our squad. We need characters. We should only be moving him on when we have a clear upgrade present in the squad and not just hoping that players like Bergvall and Gray suddenly explode in his absence. Do not repeat the mistake of letting Hojbjerg leave.

When we have two midfielders better than Bentancur, then we can let him go.

100% agree but even then I would argue we'd need 2 better at what he does not just 2 more midfielders in general.

Absolutely fucking IMMENSE the last few weeks. To have a midfielder able to play with the ball under pressure was everything for RDZ. We’re down if he wasn’t back from injury in time.

Low key; his return was so helpful to our survival, but I'm still at odds with the prospect of him being a starter with us next season.

If we don't shuffle the pack properly we'll end up with the same starting MF as today.

This. Benta has a purpose in our team as a veteran presence. Same for Palhinha. They can settle the midfield and mentor the younger lot.

He was very good since coming back from injury. Played big part in keeping us in PL.

I was happy though when RDZ subbed him at 80th minute today cause he started trying some stuff not suitable for last 10 minutes of relegation battle 😅

Yeah, I thought we definitely got away with one there.

On the other hand, once again a team were allowed to continually commit common assault on our players, with little or no punishment so I'm not too bothered about us finally getting a dodgy decision in our favour.
