Player João Palhinha

We love overrating our players
He's a good solid DM. Nothing more, nothing less but he's levels below the best DMs in the league. If we handover 30m to Bayern for him I'll be fucking fuming. 15m fine. 30m and we need fucking shooting.

Palhinha isn’t the issue. He is a perfect number two to come in and provide experience and leadership. We need to replace Bissouma with a deep lying playmaker and have Palhinha as the back up. That fixes the 6/DM role.

Well, Spurs finished below Fulham 2/2 of the last two seasons, and obviously are not as good as Bayern. Palhinha perhaps isn't good enough for our club in your eyes, but he was a starter for teams that were and are better than us right now.

My suggestion as if our head scout is reading this forum and wanted my input, is Stiller from Stuttgart.

For this relegation run in yeah but going forward if we're gonna make strides up the table I don't see how he survives in De Zerbi's one touch, quick passing between the lines football.

I think there's potentially room for him as a squad player though.
That doesn’t mean he can pick only experienced pros for a whole season though.

I would be surprised if Bentancur and Palinha is the starting CM that he’s got in mind for next season. For sure he trusts them but I’m willing to bet he’s going to move some on and sign at least 1 new CM.

He's gonna have to:

1. Grey
2. Berg
3. Bentancur
4. Biss
5. Sarr
6. Gallagher

With essentially only 2 CM spots and no Europe; if we are to get another very passing-focussed CM (7), then some serious churn has to happen.

Sarr & Biss are an easy pick, but in all honesty when you're looking at the kind of football we assume RDZ will want to play combined with the popular idea of keeping JP (8); Gallagher is a proper red-herring yet an extremely unlikely exit (considering the weight and length of his contract).

It's one hell of a jigsaw puzzle.

NEW / JP / Berg / Benta / Gallagher + Grey on loan?

Even that means we'd have to go fucking hard for the domestic cups to keep everyone interested.

Hayden Hackney is a must

I don't know what that means to half of these players but if you want improve the technical level of this midfield and have a pass first progile then he is a no brainer.

He is one of my favourite Sporting players ever. Followed him since he was signed up as a kid to play for the reserve squad. Instrumental in Sporting winning the first league title with Amorim, which was achieved based mostly on defensive consistency. A true fucking warrior. Slightly past his prime, but I really hope we keep him next season. Still has a role to play.

If you haven't listened to the interview with Palhinha on Spursplay yet (you don't need to log in), I recommend it. What a lovely bloke.
