Player Antonín Kinský

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I've been of the opinion for a while that as a scout Lane is actually quite good. The individual players that he identify are all either good or youngsters with a lot of potential.

His issue is that he lacks the knowhow to take these individuals and put together a functioning squad. Which is what whoever replaces him/gets brought in to work with him needs to be good at. Someone that if Lange stays can tell him "we need these positions. Bring me some options."
Great take. I agree.

Astonishing last part of the season

I think the plan was to bring in a more experienced younger goalkeeper such as Trafford but not sure he would be an upgrade on Kinsky now.

Kevin Darlow (now 35) formerly of Newcastle and Leeds so plenty of first team experience rumoured to be linked with Spurs, and this might not be a bad solution for net season to bring in a very experienced no 2 on a free.

What in the actual fuck is Milesy wearing. You'd get sent home from school with that shit in my day.

If RDZ thinks Kinsky is the No 1 now then id be inclined to give Brandon Austin the No 2. We do not give our young English players enough chances, and buying a foreign keeper who will barely play as a number 2 taking up a foreign player spot is just crazy
Agree we need a homegrown keeper as no.2 but I'd be getting an experienced one in (Darlow's the name that's doing the rounds). Going into the season with 2 relatively inexperienced keepers would be playing with fire.

Austin strikes me as one of those guys that's gonna be a 3rd choice keeper for life. If he had real ambition he would've left by now. And tbh that's fine - clubs need guys like that for training - but we need to give up on the idea of him being a legit option beyond an emergency back-up imo.

Austin would be a 1st choice somewhere and should take it if it comes up but who drops money like that.

Regardless Kinsky has responded the right way to a hellfire of a baptism. He's made of stern stuff.

I still don't know if the kids going to be any good or not, but deserves huge fucking credit for showing the character to come in after the AM mess (which wasn't all his fault - but he carried the can) and perform the way he has.

Well done kid.

I’m pleased for the lad particularly his redemption curve from Athletico.

However his distribution was meh yesterday. And the save was not that great, 99% of keepers make that (Joe Hart excluded) as it was very close to him and not going for the corner of the goal. If he missed that we would all be angry.

That said I do like him. Not sure he is ready for no.1 though.

Yeah he can spot a talent, he's just shit at profiling and his squad building doesn't make sense.

That’s a bit of a weird take IMHO.

I don’t recall any poor distribution yesterday, I thought he kept it simple, but that’s what the game needed.

That save at the death was anything but simple. Watch the highlights, I think he sees it late because Palhinha is in his line of vision and it requires good reflexes and a strong hand.

I think his distrubution has consistently been well above average compared to most PL keepers. There are only a few in league that are better passers than him and he's as comfortable in possession as any of them.

I have a sneaking suspicion De Zerbi has been asking him to just launch it long more than usual to keep things simple - our passing out from the back has been quite risk-averse by De Zerbi standards. I imagine he'd ask a lot more of him (and the entire team) in possession next season when he goes all-in on his style of play.

He’s done well to come back but I remember big Erik Thorstvedt throwing one in on his debut (on tv against Forest, which was a big deal back then) and he went on to be a great keeper for us for years. So all the crap people in the media were spouting about his career being over with us was just utter nonsense.

Thought this quite revealing…
