I actually think we could potentially finish ahead of United next season but their turnaround is exactly what we'll need to see.
I do think with De Zerbi that we have one of the best coaches in the league now, especially with Pep gone. This is a huge opportunity for us to close the gap now with one game a week. Lets hope we take it.
I like DeZerbi and think he'll improve us, but if he manages any of those three things I'll be absolutely astonished.
A comfortable mid-table finish is the limit of my hopes for next season. And that's no slight on DeZerbi. I just think that's where we are as a club right now.

Anyone who lets that woke brigade have any say on the club needs shooting! They need to be immediately dissolved. This is a football club and not a women's refuge. This is way bigger than any little political point scoring.
This is life or death for most fans and we all felt it this season. When Simons went off with the ACL at 0-0 against Wolves while West Ham were 1-0 up against Everton, we were likely to be 4 points behind with just 4 games to go after just picking up 2 more injuries. We were staring down the barrel of a gun. I felt it. We all felt it. We were bookies favourites to be relegated for weeks! Right up until that Villa win.
As unacceptable as this season was, nothing brought us closer together than the last few weeks. The real fans stepped up and we willed our team across the line. We have the best fans in the world and its not even close. Sickens me to think that a group of people think they can use our club to voice their political agendas. They aren't real fans. They weren't suffering like the rest of us. To think they had the nerve to try sabotage the RDZ deal over some comments he made! They don't represent us and they never will
I guess it takes one to know one.
We'll see next season but if you honestly think that even with all it's flaws, our squad is 17th level quality, you're mad.
Managerial appointments and injuries are why we are here, the squad quality really isn't that bad and strengthen in a couple of positions, get the injured players back and it's easily capable of Europe with RDZ in charge.

LOOOOL we have one of the worst forward lines in the league! Maddison out means absolutely zero creativity and nous, and you think its a decent squad loooool. Yeah, it's just been really bad luck that we've finished 17th TWICE!

Yeah our strikers are pretty poor but for most of this season we've been playing second, or third choices.
You can "looool" all you like but that's just how I see it.
Chuck Madders, Deki, Xavi and Kudus into the team and it's instantly better.
I think any teams second choice forward line is going to be pretty suspect really and we've been relying on kids and a half arsed loanee for most of this season.

We are so far off being a European team right this minute, it's not funny. Everton were really shit yesterday and we still only managed one goal. We were incredibly lucky we were facing them and not Villa.
We need a serious bump in quality, especially in attack, and some players with much stronger mental fortitude.

Yep, good squads finish 17th back to back. It's also a mystery why we can't string 3-4 passes together and look like an actual professional football team.

Don’t be so silly,they had their opinions. I don’t think appointing anyone who knew the club whether it was Harry,Tim,Glen or whoever would have saved us. That is what they thought though, but every poster here, every fan had their own views. To slag them off for that is childish.
Madders talks better than virtually anyone i can remember...... So eloquent and likeable..... Dunno if he fancies management but he'll be a huge loss to us and the game when he bows out.
