I love this. De Zerbi "Now I will be very very strong, because we need to build a new Tottenham" when talking about Lange and Vinai
De Zerbi feels right. He plays the attractive ball we want (Jol, Redknapp, Poch + Ange style) but has the attitude and fight of a Conte (our only manager who really put it up to the board and demanded signings).
Hopefully he is backed and can give his best version of himself at spurs. Its up to him then if he can be a success. Frank was backed and was a disaster. We didn't back any of the good managers we had before Frank. I feel like if RDZ is not backed, he will call out the board and could potentially walk. He'll be as firey as Conte was. Lets see how this plays out.
But it feels like a zero sum game. Either RDZ is fully backed and brings up right back up to the top of the league over the next 3 seasons and has us challenging against the best. Or it all goes pear-shaped and he walks early or the club sack him because they don't like the regular home truths! I don't see the in between.

Yea, I was thinking the same thing. Number of times.
Under Frank Bentancur-Palhinha duo was a disaster.
Under RDZ it was pretty much acceptable.
Manager really does make a difference.

Also, another thing that talks FOR him - strong bonds are developed in experiencing strong emotions and coming through difficult situations.

It really is odd. Never seen a manager's failure be defended by the media so much. Normally they love ripping them to shreds. Like compare how they talked about Rosenior, who wasn't really any worse as a manager. It's night and day.
Maybe it's cos he's a real anomaly as a character among managers. Basically comes across like a relatively ego-less "normal" bloke and is clearly super happy to do interviews, content, etc.
Reminds me didn't Tudor say he has his opinion about why the constant injuries at Tottenham, and that he'd share after the season

IMO and I could be totally wrong, but I wonder if it was down to a lack of professionalism and poor application in training. Wouldn't surprise me. Players not looking after themselves properly.

The bonds between the manager, the fans and certain players are forged strong now because diversity creates strength.
All eyes are now on the board to deliver and if they don't, they are going to feel the pain.

The TST tend to do more harm than they're worth these days.
I agree. RDZ is perfect for what we need, and if the board don't realise that and bring in quality players, it will end it tears like is has with all previous managers. It's now up to the owners and the board to back him. Man Utd turned it around in one season - we can have that here, also, but it starts with a great transfer window.
He will also know these players in battle now who to trust and who not to trust. It should make the window easier as he will know who to get rid of.
