He’s exactly the type of player that we should not be signing. £45m for a totally unproven 20 year old who plays in the Dutch league. A league where Troy Parrott has found success.
Wouldn't mind a punt on Parrott himself tbh.

But anyway, not sure Godts is exactly the player (he's a crowd-pleaser though), but spending serious money to acquire an emerging star with top technical ability and end product is the non-negotiable way to raise the level of the squad.

People are getting too hung up on all these players that are available on a free for a reason.

Soured on Savinho honestly… he was complete shite for City this season and has almost no goal threat. I know he’s still an upgrade on our wingers because they’re all so bad, but I wouldn’t want to pay the big fee rumoured last summer on him.

Most wingers offered very little goal threat this season - he had a slightly higher XG/90 than Semenyo did for them this season and the third highest in their team.

Looking at the data, there were only 3 wide players that hit double digits this season - MGW, Semenyo and Harry Wilson.

Not saying we should go for Savinho but judging wide players on goal threat this season is not a good representation on their potential output.

As much as I want to gut the squad, we do need to be careful not to do it all at once. Time and time again teams have done that and it hasn’t worked out well. Need to aim to improve the first team with 2-4 players. I think the front three is the priority. Robertshaw and Senesi will be very good signings but I don’t seem both starting. I also think our medical team to get their head out of their ass and keep our players fit. My dark horse for next season will be Udogie. Keep him fit and I think there’s a potentially brilliant player in there! Heard it here first lol

I think Richarlison will go. He isn’t useless but he’s nowhere near reliable enough. You can’t have two strikers like that. Solanke is younger and crucially, home grown so will not be going anywhere.

But realistically, I imagine if we’re going to get a striker it’ll be someone who can operate across the front three. Like Muani, if, you know. Muani wasn’t dogshit.

I hope that Lankshear gets a chance to prove himself over the summer too. I think he’s going to be the real deal. Already looks a better finisher than anyone we’ve got. Maybe a touch too soon/maybe one final loan might be better for his development but I’d have bitten your hand off for him in our squad two months ago.

We’ve got some top players from Ajax before but you have to realise the chasm between that league and the PL currently. Kyle Walker-Peters would probably be one of the best RBs in the Eredivisie if he went there.

We need a full scale forensic review of our injury problems.. Case-study every one of the likes of Kulu, Kudus, Solanke..... No stone un-turned.

Shame it would be the chuckle brother conducting it. :langetroll::vinai:
