The world where he was the only creative option we had?
It's better to have one creative player available than none and while it's taken him a while to get up to speed with the league (and he isn't the first) he'll suit RDZ pretty well.

6th -8th…..higher than that.If some of the injured players are available next season and along with, additional signings we could do well.
Once he can get his style down instead of firefighting, there is every chance of 6th-8th.
Look at utd, finished 16th last season and were mid table before Carrick came in.
Good management and playing people in correct position has got them 3rd.
So I think its very possible to get back our old top six position quickly if, the owners follow through on their part.
Would be great but, any European spot will do for starters.
Not sure about that. Reckon Coventry, Hull and Ipswich go down with no fight tbh.Next year i think the league will be as competitive as ever however those saddled with Europe will suffer for it. Arguably all the top teams are imperfect and trying to rebuild themselves apart from goons but I think even they could get complacent and have their luck turn away from them.
Long story short I think RDZ will get the 2 or 3 top player he wants and we will mix it with the best. Certainly make a big jump above all teams upto Bournemouth so thats 6th off the bat.

None of them have the money to do what the likes of Sunderland and Forest did and none of their coaches has the experience of Farke at coming up and trying to stay there.
My guess is relegation is wrapped up by late March.
RDZ had got maximum out of this squad in the 7 games, i don't doubt that, but let's not pretend it was great, we beat Wolves, Villa who were happy to chuck the game and Everton who were already on holiday. The squad is poor and needs major upgrades, especially in attack. In all honesty, at the time Tudor was sacked, did anyone see where we were getting 3 wins and 2 draws from? No chance. We were doomed, De Zerbi deserves all the credit for that. To get 11 points out of a squad this lacking in pace and attacking ability was a miracle.
Sunderland just finished 7th after getting promoted. Of course a European finish next season is perfectly achievable. Things can turn around very quickly, it’s only losers like Thomas Frank who think otherwise. The middle pack of the league are all a muchness, that’s why there were still so many teams in the hunt for Europe so late on.

The leagues not great, with 5 quality additions we can fly up, but it needs to be at least 5 quality additions, if we go into next season with the shit we've had up front the last few months we got no chance. Pinning hopes on players like Tel is going to get us nowhere.
Postecoglou is a major reason why we are shit, and he was here at least a year too long, but we do have a quality issue at spurs, a lot of this squad are crap and needs to be upgraded. People singing Bentancur's praises again, this guy wouldn't get anywhere near anyone in the top 5s midfields, so if we want to be getting in that mix we need better it's as simple as that, and Bentancur is one of our so called 'better' players! VDV on his day is class, Maddison on his day is class, Kulu on his day (not been for a while now tho) is class. Other than that its either average or poor players.
At the bare minimum need a whole new attack, a deep lying playmaker and a LB. That's the bare minimum of what we need.
Haha lets be honest here..
We're very fortunate he was responsive to the bribe of a 5-year contract and abject lies about backing in the transfer market.Haha lets be honest here..
We were in absolute dire straits. The prospect of De Zerbi coming in wasnt even a possibility at the time. Think it took everyone by surprise a bit.
United went out and got 3 marquee signings for attack! that's what we need to do. They already had Bruno who is borderline world class. If some of the injured players are available next season and along with, additional signings we could do well.

Club couldn't buy a win before De Zerbi turned up, even if you're being cynical and say Villa and Everton threw their games we lost against far worse teams like West Ham and Burnley and didn't win a match in 4 months, he deserves a lot of credit.
Mental isn't it. We couldn't beat anyone before De Zerbi came in, we win 3 games out of 7, and unlucky not to have won more, and now it's, well we only beat this and that team, they are nothing special.
I mean, where the fuck have they been all season? We couldn't win a game for love or money, and now some fans are belittling our victories.
Worth pointing out that, even though we only won the 3rd game, RDZ is unbeaten at home.
But for a 95th minute equaliser and a dodgy penalty decision, it could *should have been 3 wins from 3, too.
With a knackered, bare bones squad.
I "showed ignored content" and both posters came up with great posts.Mental isn't it. We couldn't beat anyone before De Zerbi came in, we win 3 games out of 7, and unlucky not to have won more, and now it's, well we only beat this and that team, they are nothing special.

It's not belittling anything, its being a realist. This squad is shit, its finished 17th two seasons on the bounce, that's not a blip. RDZ might be a very good manager but he's not a miracle worker, you can only do so much with shit footballers. Even if Kulu comes back on top form, the front 3 is still well below par, we don't have one forward at the club that anyone in the top 5 would take! thats a big problem.Mental isn't it. Hope they just let him get on with it.The only saving grace of this board is the fact that they brought in De Zerbi just in the nick of time. If they had waited for maybe even a day longer, it might have been too late. By the skin of our teeth literally SMH.
