No accountability from Vinai again, just saying "It didnt work out" with Tudor. Thats it, in pretty much his whole statement, and thats not even an apology or an acknowledgement HE made a mistake. Instead he plays it like Its all Levy's fault, yet Levy employed him. Do one

Get this c*nt out

What’s the point in this? Blaming Levy, putting trust in the chuckle brothers, just be quiet and put your money where your mouth is
It is just PR waffle.

There's no point in getting worked up about it IMO. It is printed for the sake of being printed so I say let's just ignore it and go on with our lives.

May 2027 statement:
"Finishing 17th for a third season in a row does not reflect the stature or potential of this football club. We are bitterly disappointed and share your frustration. You, and we, expect more than this. We know this must never happen again..."

The argument is that if we were prioritising the football team we wouldn't be spending a lower proportion of our revenue on it than every other football club.
Anybody attempting to justify it most definitely does have an agenda

That is a very limited argument.

Two things can be true - we should be spending a higher percentage of our revenue on wages - doing so would not guarantee us of anything.

It pains me to say it - but Woolwich did not challenge consistently for the title by 'wages' - it got them over the line for sure, but a huge part of thier issue and why it took them long to get there, was recovering from the stupid wages they spent on the wrong players.

Its all about getting the right players in and i personally dont give a fuck what their wages are.

Incredibly boring argument and doesn't even touch anywhere near the root cause of our problems.

I think it was a fair enought starting point to a discussion when we werent able to get over the line to the title. 5/6 years ago.

Recruitment is wages adjacent, however, building a balanced squad is just not about wages or wage to revenue - if it was surely Villa would have won the league

I like the statement. It is quite direct and leaves no hiding place.

Tbh I am sick of all the moaning and toxicity by some of the fanbase since Sunday.

Yeah it was two seasons from hell. But we finally have a top manager in charge, and all the leadership are saying the right things. I do think we will see change.

You can either be optimistic, or just continue fucking moaning.

I don't think it does the club any good when all you see are Spurs fans calling Vinai a cunt even now. I was guilty of it too, but now we stayed up, how about getting behind the people at the club and seeing what happens from here?

Between the Lewis family and Vinai, they’ve really pinned everything on Levy. I don’t doubt most of the issues were of his creating initially, but it doesn’t absolve them of the blame of finishing 17th this season. It wasn’t Daniel Levy who kept Thomas Frank for months after it was clear he was hopeless. Nor Daniel Levy who only signed Conor Gallagher in January when it was clear we were plummeting to the wrong end of the table.

What I will say though, is they’re either being completely honest or extremely naive with that statement. They’ve now put themselves in a position where they have to invest heavily in the squad this summer. Anything less than that and they’ve outed themselves as liars, and made their position completely untenable.

They can’t take the usual approach of dicking everyone about all summer and waiting to see which “opportunities” come up near the end of the window. They need to be fast, pro-active and focused on who the targets are, and if they need to spend an extra £5-10m to get the deal done, then they better fucking do it rather than fuck about over every last penny like the bald one did. It’s not 2008, clubs don’t put up with that shit anymore unless they’re desperate to sell.

They need to show enough this Summer that the fans believe they mean what they say. Clearly the mess behind the scenes is massive and will need time to fix. But if they under-deliver this Summer, we have every reason to doubt what they're saying.

I suppose we almost won the league under Poch, and Leicester won it with a team that cost like 30m quid combined, so it shows money really isn't everything, and at heart it's all about the quality of the players.

Meanwhile United had a decade of paying some of the biggest salaries in world football and getting worse.

I do think that acting like a big club and throwing around big transfer fees but not the salaries to match has been a serious issue, though. We're still spending tons of money but getting the BTEC versions of the expensive players - the 7th/8th choice options that City, Liverpool and Woolwich don't want.

Meanwhile Brighton, Palace and Bournemouth are flanking us on the other side signing all the best upcoming talent.

Our transfer policy has been neither fish nor fowl. Just shit.

Reading their statement this morning brought a tear to my eye and put fire in my belly.

That could be related to cutting, eating and rubbing my eyes after handling with bare hands some Carolina Reapers, but I just feel like they really mean it this time.

Until next time anyway.
