What’s the point in this? Blaming Levy, putting trust in the chuckle brothers, just be quiet and put your money where your mouth is

I much prefer this statement to charringtons caveated PR piece that we hear every year

No accountability from Vinai again, just saying "It didnt work out" with Tudor. Thats it, in pretty much his whole statement, and thats not even an apology or an acknowledgement HE made a mistake. Instead he plays it like Its all Levy's fault, yet Levy employed him. Do one

Get this c*nt out

What are you talking about ........where did he mention Levy in all this?

Obviously, we were very disappointed when it became clear that we wouldn't be appointing Roberto on a permanent basis [in February]," said Venkatesham.

"We were then, in the interim market, which is generally not the broadest. There were a number of reasons why Igor was selected: he had managed in very high-profile and high-pressure environments - we didn't want somebody that was going to wilt under that pressure.

"He has a history of making an immediate impact. He has managed in big clubs. He has quite a different personality to Thomas and we felt like something different was needed.

"But of course we were really aware he had no Premier League experience. Was it a risk in appointing him? Absolutely."

Asked if he would accept the Tudor appointment was a mistake, Venkatesham responded: "It didn't work out. I think it's very clear it didn't work out. And I don't think that is in question. I don't think anybody would argue anything else
.............

There is a whole explanation there about the reasoning of hiring Tudor, the risk, and that it did not work out.

They wanted DeZerbi in Feb but Bobby didn't want to come

Doesn't sit right with me Enic blaming Levy. You think if enic said to Levy here's 300m this summer go spend it and win something, he'd have turned it down?

Fact is enic invested fuck all over long periods and the only reason we have what little we have is due to Levy.

Hahaha, I’ve never noticed that before!
Some of the comments are amusing;

''Apparently Peter Charrington didn't know there was 11 players in a football team when he joined as non-executive chairman''

''Unless Lange goes you ultimately don't understand how to run a club, villa flying since his departure should tell you enough.''

''Your right actions speak louder than words. So we’re if Sky sports are correct chasing players nearing the ends of their careers.''

Levy managed under Joe Lewis though. Maybe the other members of the family have a different approach?
Until we can all see some tangible difference then, it all seems cheap talk for now.

I agree that enic haven't invested as much as they should have but tbh the thing I hate them most for is keeping Levy in charge for so long.

We've a net spend ~£500m in transfers over the last 5 seasons, I believe that's the 4th most spent in the league and we have nothing to show for it because of the constant churn of clowns Levy kept putting in position from Hitchen to Paratici to Munn to Lange. We absolutely wasted that money and those 5 seasons. We should have much more to show for that.

It was well past time for Levy to go, but this scapegoating is pathetic by them. Say what you will about the guy but he wouldn’t have let the Frank situation go on anywhere near as long as it did.

Comes across to me like they issued that statement by Charrington, have read the response online which overwhelmingly has been that we don't believe them and then have felt they subsequently have had to release this. They just dont get how tired most of the fanbase is with their ownership and want a change of owner.

These stupid cunts 100% were going to take us down if left to their own devices.

Just praying De Zerbi can smack some sense into them and get us through this.

No matter what state Levy left the place in, I’d have hoped a group of highly paid, highly experienced executives would have made a better fist of it than this, in the ten months they’ve had.

Haha no - they took over from lewis around the time his insider trading investigation started. It's their 4th year, but they're trying to distance themselves from the timing that things at the club start to go sour

Yeah I guess so, blame the bloke that isn't there anymore.
Some if not most is on him, now that they are fully running it lets see what they do.

But they aren't - they've even said they have been and are leaving it to other people. Same as they've ever done.

The "Lewis Family" rebrand continues. They'll rename it to "The Lewis Foundation" or something to pretend it's a benevolent blameless enterpise.

Yeah, doesn't sit right for me either. Maybe it's true that Levy was hiding things from them, but guess who've been the owners for like 20 years? ENIC. It's the Lewis family's responsibility to be informed about the state of the club. But here they are pretending they just arrived last August.

Fucking hell.

We'll have Hoddle's faith healer next.

'I'd like you all to meet Eileen'.
Come on, Eileen!
That is a very limited argument.

Two things can be true - we should be spending a higher percentage of our revenue on wages - doing so would not guarantee us of anything.

It pains me to say it - but Woolwich did not challenge consistently for the title by 'wages' - it got them over the line for sure, but a huge part of thier issue and why it took them long to get there, was recovering from the stupid wages they spent on the wrong players.

Its all about getting the right players in and i personally dont give a fuck what their wages are.
Smashed it. This is what's required.
I suppose we almost won the league under Poch, and Leicester won it with a team that cost like 30m quid combined, so it shows money really isn't everything, and at heart it's all about the quality of the players.

Meanwhile United had a decade of paying some of the biggest salaries in world football and getting worse.

I do think that acting like a big club and throwing around big transfer fees but not the salaries to match has been a serious issue, though. We're still spending tons of money but getting the BTEC versions of the expensive players - the 7th/8th choice options that City, Liverpool and Woolwich don't want.

Meanwhile Brighton, Palace and Bournemouth are flanking us on the other side signing all the best upcoming talent.

Our transfer policy has been neither fish nor fowl. Just shit.
I do find it astonishing I can hold down a 40 hr a week job, and know Endrick would be a good loan option through research in my spare time but these absolute wagon wheels can't whilst on a 6 figure salary, all comforts paid for role.

A good way of fooling the fans knowing that the fans blamed Levy for everything so it's obvious the gullible ones are gonna lap it up.
