Management Vinai Venkatesham - CEO

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We have a horrible group at the helm. Almost everything has been finger pointing, sudden stunning realizations of institutional problems, inquests, and promises of action. All PR bullshit, and bad PR bullshit at that.

They have no credibility and no amount of letters or sentiments will fix that. The only thing that can is action and they can start with Lange.

At the end of the day Aphex actions speak louder than words and until our fans see some action you can't blame the fanbase for being cynical especially since we nearly got fekin relegated and we've been in this cycle for the past 20 odd years, people need to vent at someone and Levy used to get it, now it's Vinai's turn, it's what it is.

Yeah I do get that, but he's been in charge 9 months. It's not long enough to judge.

Is he an Woolwich fan or did he just work for them?

He is a corporate guy, does it matter to him who he works for. Why does he deliberately want to ruin Tottenham. Levy is a Tottenham fan and he led us to the mess we are now in.

Seriously I don't get all this nonsense

I dont think hes a plant in the way that hes here to sabotage us or anything, was just referring to another posters term

I think he is exactly as you say, a corporate guy - with no understanding of the industry - who didnt see a problem with taking the job

Despite it being obvious he should have been more than aware of the culture, the rivalry etc and the fact being a Gooner plant would mean he starts with no goodwill at all

And I think he is SO corporate, he probably doesnt even know much about football or running a club

He'll outsource recruitment to some expensive agency, hire their recommendation, and let that guy get on with it....

And THAT is the real issue with him. I agree with all those who said Levy was too involved, to much a micro manager etc - but he did at least have some understanding of football.

So far Vinai, so far as I can tell, doesnt even know which way we are shooting in each half, or if we are winning or losing...

That 9 months happened to coincide with our worst ever Premier League season where we survived by the skin of our teeth, that's plenty long enough to judge despite the issues in the background, it's beyond gross negligence.

No he didn't force Paratici out

hahaha. He came back just before Levy was jumped, and then left less than 2 and a half months later.

What did he say about joining Fiorentina??

"In my case Fiorentina have a serious set of owners, a very serious set of owners who are of great value.

“Rocco didn’t have to persuade me. I was the one who had to convince him to take me on"

" I did not ask for guarantees in spending. That’s not how I operate. All I asked was for autonomy in decision making in the sporting side of the business."

Easy to read between the lines. There was a lot of noise about Lange wanting him out and Vinai supporting Lange as his man, and Paritici as Levy's guy.

Internal power struggles?

"We are delighted to announce the return of Fabio Paratici to the Club as Sporting Director. Fabio will partner with Johan Lange, promoted to also become Sporting Director."

So Levy brought Paratici back, and they countered it by giving their man in Lange the same role

This season was the culmination of years of neglect and mismanagement. Last season was technically worse, we got less points in the league and suffered more defeats. We finished 17th last season, so this season isn't a one off, it was a continuation that clearly precedes Vinai's time here.

That we came so much closer to relegation this season was because of the other teams in the league being better, and the 18th place team not being as bad as Wolves and Burnley.

There's absolutely no doubt mistakes were made this season, but we were losing league games every week last season too, so evidently there issues have been at the club longer than Vinai.

You can't just turnaround a club like Spurs in a matter of months.

He was Levy's hire, so it's not surprise that when Levy left, Paratici decided to move on. The choice of two Sporting Directors was clearly a mistake, and I am not saying Vinai is without blame, but I think it's a leap to say Vinai "forced Paratici out".

In any case, Paratici has huge question marks about his ability too. He signed a lot of players who have failed to deliver for Spurs.

That interview is a Prince Andrew level car crash.

Basically:

“The football side was in bad shape so I proved that I have no clue how to improve it, actually made it worse, but now trust me to fix it.”

He may not be an actual fan but it's where he came from and he's done nothing to indicate that he understands what a big deal it is.

Corporate guy he may be but football isn't supposed to be corporate.

It's tribal.

If you're gonna join us from that lot you need to make sure there are no doubts where your loyalties lie.

He hired, and still praises, a manager who constantly praised Woolwich and did a terrible job.

He uses Woolwich branding to promote his appearances.

He laughs and jokes with those around him while we're battling relegation.

He says he's bringing communication and doesn't communicate at all when the shit is hitting the fan.

He is overseeing a massive clusterfuck of epic proportions and has done nothing to make us think he can fix it.

Get rid!

Come on you're being silly, no-one is asking them to do a complete 360 and it's not just about losing matches it's the lack of care in how they've managed the football club this this season. Look at the fuckery we've had to put up with this season alone, forget about what happened previously because things like keeping Frank in a job, hiring Tudor and not making any purchases in Jan has fek all to do with the previous era and these things along ensured that we were a kick away from relegation, you're just making excuses for them talking about teams being better lol and I have no idea why.

He's not going anywhere.

It was always a big hope. He's playing them like a fiddle. Promoted above his station from the scum job he had. The idiots running the show will probably keep Lange too.

And I guess the useless **** has not quit because he is “too honourable” to do so and has such a deep and profound sense of duty…

Again. I like the fact they are willing to talk big and raise the expectations of the fans rather than talk small to lower the expectations of the fans.

So much more refreshing than telling us 'we can not spend what we do not have' or trying to convince us how grateful we should be all the fucking time like the previous twat that was running the gaff.

They have put the pressure on themselves. They stand or die by their own sword. I like that....I like it a lot

How about talk less and deliver? Or, even better, go somewhere else.

didn't they talk big a year ago too? sounds like more bs to me and i've yet to see anything much different from the way papa joe ran things for decades.

"Our training centre is amazing, one of the best, if not the best in the world. But when you look around, it looks more like a five-star hotel than it does a performance environment. That will change over the summer." -Vinai Venkatesham (14 months after arriving and seeing training ground).

The guy is a prick, but this also rings true. If they are all swanning about, being pampered all day in a gold-leaf covered spa with masseuses etc. What the fuck are they fighting for?
