He is playing against a nothing team. I think Wharton is good. I'm not sure he can impose at the highest level.

Not questioning that he is good
A question of how gppd.
He’s running the game in a European cup final.

He’s the focal point of the entire Palace side. Always there as an out ball. Brilliant against a press. Brilliant passer. Very level headed.

Will probably end up at City.

I really don’t want Woolwich winning the CL, that goes without saying. But if the worst comes to worst, it would be kinda funny to see the Premier League teams win all the European trophies after some of the talk about it not being what it was.

I probably rate rice higher than anyone on here but he’s nowhere near as good a passer as Wharton. He’s better at almost everything else but passing ain’t one of those things.

Wharton is the best English passer of a ball after Kane and maybe Trent.

If Wharton had Rice’s off the ball attributes and mentality, you would be talking about one of the very best players in the world. He’s still more than young enough to get better in many of his weaker aspects. I think it is time he left for a bigger club, as good as Palace have been for him.

Wharton plays like Carrick in style, Anderson plays more like Rodri in style. Both great but somewhat different. Still odd that England’s best passer other than Kane isn’t going to the WC. Same as Bowen the biggest English G/A player in the prem not going. Tuchel certainly made a brave selection.

I think he’s much more adventurous than Carrick. Carrick was a good player but he played safe a lot.

Arteta to be fair to him uses Rice to his strengths. Rice was never an elite 6, he can’t take the ball on the half turn from the CB’s well enough and his passing is very vanilla in deep positions. He is so much better playing further forward breaking up play and ball carrying, he is a world class ball winning 8.

England are lucky for Anderson coming through, he is proper 6.

I disagree but no issue.

Arnold is just a show pony, good passer or not, but we will soon see if he can deal with Mourinho's brand of affection..

On Wharton, I think we need to see your belief tested on a bigger stage.

Imagine being able to play Wharton, Anderson and Rice in the same team and choosing not to?

No no.

Anderson is nothing like Rodri was, with the Spaniard not having recovered his greatness since his knee injury.

Wharton is far more similar but one-footed.

I would say Anderson is Ricr-like.

Just watch how they all play..

Apart from the top 2 maybe 3 teams in all the top leagues the rest arent that great. PL has so much strength
Half the Premier League will be playing in Europe next year ... 9 teams playing midweek is a bit of an opportunity for us.

You would have to tip Brighton to win this thing.
Not sure about the Europa League ... Bournemouth and Palace with new managers and who knows what Sunderland will be like?
Maybe United will have a run at the Champions League ...
