The "leave a bite behind" rule is a traditional etiquette practice meant to signal to the host that you were served generous portions and are comfortably satisfied.

It depends on where you live. In parts of Asia it is customary to leave a bit on the plate. Because a blank plate is generally meant to signal "you did not feed me enough".

Aside from the fact that it’s the scum, I’m so jaded after this season I just can’t be bothered to watch anything that’s not Spurs. Not even enthused much about the World Cup at this point.
