Was arguing with this Leeds fan who legit said that Bournemouth are a bigger club 'in performance' whatever the fuck that means 😆
This happens every time a smaller club has a good run in the league. Leicester fans were giving it the big one when they finished ahead of us a couple times, acting like they were a massive club, and now Bournemouth are in Europe (probably for the first time in the entire club's history?) you get the same shit.

Good for them - well run club who have had a couple good years - but even the hint of the suggestion that they're bigger than us in any way is a complete joke.

Hands down the main reason for any player signing for a new club are financial....there are a few exceptions to this i.e. the threat of having one's head placed between the butt cheeks of a fat Greek owner and getting it crushed

I wish we'd wait for things to be official before starting player threads.

Its all nonsense till they actually sign.

They are massively out performing their budget / size, but we've seen this before with clubs like Southampton, eventually it comes to an end.
Yeah, you’re outperforming until you’re not.

Whereas as we’ve demonstrated, spend a couple decades developing a global fanbase, then build an elite stadium and training ground and you can survive the periods when things aren’t working on the pitch.

Location also matters. Even if it doe so less now that the money in the league is so good full stop.

Location played a big part in Madders coming here since he and his wife (her especially) wanted to move to London. I have heard similar about Senesi. That his girlfriend wants to live in London. Which makes sense since there are probably more of their compatriots in London than Bournemouth.

Don't disagree at all....domestic and affinity reasons along with others can be deal breakers but provision for the future is by far the common denominator whether it be for the player agent or both.
