Well they really missed the boat with alonso, bad mistake there.
Not sure iraola is the answer for them personally. They will really need to beef up that squad and with quality to rotate between Europe and pl otherwise they will drop off a cliff.

So so glad we got RDZ

You say that, but Iraola clearly had an idea the Liverpool job might be available hence why he left Bournemouth. You only do that if you know a top club is interested in you, so they would have been in contact.

SO then you think, well if Iraola knew, then Alonso would have too. So the only conclusion you can take, is that Alonso actively took the Chelsea job in preference over waiting a couple of weeks for the Liverpool one.

Bournemouth finished the season well didn't they? He nearly got them CL and into the Europa, that's phenomenal work.
I think he seems like a very clever good manager. I think the test will be managing big name players & handling the pressure of a big club. It’s a different skill. If it goes badly you know he will succeed at a smaller club as he is a good manager.
I wonder why they left it too late for alonso.

Once jota died it was going to be a write off season for Liverpool. He was unlucky with injuries but he didn’t really look like he had a clue what he was doing.
I think the klopp team he inherited with his different take on management was a perfect mix that first season. But when he had to start from Scratch he failed. Reminds of when wenger took over grahams really well drilled defence. Throw in wengers attacking flair & it was perfect. Wenger was never able to recreate that solid tough defence.

The other mistake was he persisted with Salah who was clearly past it as soon as the season started. They were playing with 10 men every game. Then you had van dyke on the downturn conceding goals for fun. Both needed to be dropped but that’s a brave thing to do as they are legends. Missing out on guehi as they were trying to get him on the cheap too. Left it too late then palace withdraw the player for sale. If your paying 120m for wirtz then guehi even in his last year is worth more than 35m. They went attack heavy with signings. Obviously the flop signings didn’t help. Frimpong just looks average. Wirtz looks ill suited for the premiership & if it is to work. He is the sort that needs at least 1 year to adjust to the demands over here. Issak is pretty good but injury prone & never worth 120m. I think 90m tops. Kerkez I rated at Bournemouth but his skill set was bombing down the wing whipping it in. But slot doesn’t use him that way & wants more build up play & passing which doesn’t suit him. He would have suited klopps heavy metal more.

Unfortunately all the contenders are transitioning so arteta & Woolwich will hoover up so many trophies over the next few years. He has timed it perfectly. In reality he should have won it the last 2 seasons but blew it against teams who weren’t that great. Stumbled over the line against a poor city who can’t string a run of wins together. Woolwich can do the same every season. 8 out of 10 solid but over the course of the season the transitioning rivals will drop lots of points so they just stumble over the line.

Thats fair enough to think.
Don't get me wrong I dont think iraola will flop but i dont think its a sure thing that he will hit expectations.

So Alonso is better than Iraola? Why?
Not necessarily as Alonso is still relatively new to it all but he did feel nailed on to take over at Liverpool.
I think it's a bit of a shock that they've fired slot now after missing out on Alonso because if they'd have acted quicker...
Alonso would certainly have the fans onside from the start, it would have been a massively popular appointment.

Apparently Liverpool didn't want Alonso, as they don't like his style of play. According to a journalist on Radio 5, a couple of weeks ago.
