Yeah, and still our top assister with (by a distance) most chances created despite missing half the season. Kudus has his issues but I'd like to see what De Zerbi can do with him - he's only played under turds like Frank, Moyes and Lopetegui in the PL. Never seen him playing under an attacking coach.
The problem we have with this thought process is that we can do it with any player.

Well, Vicario wasn’t great under Frank, but he’ll be so much better under a proper manager. Now just replace Vicario with any other player. And suddenly, we’re into next season with the same perma-injured, low confidence, soft as shite squad again, where well once again struggle.

Helps when the only game plan Frank had was give the ball to Kudus. I don't like his game at all, he's greedy, slows things down, and doesn't know when to pass the ball. It's not a priority for this summer, but if we see the same as last season, we need an upgrade there too.

"Romero just needs 1 more manager to sort him out. The last 7 were anomolies"

I feel there are a couple of exceptions but most of the squad should scale up under a better coach.

Would expect a few of them to leave as well.

Yeah you're the biggest Kudus doubter on the forum (which is fine). Personally I think you underrate him and, while he's far from perfect, offers a lot of good qualities too (hold up play, 1v1 dribbling, unpredictability). The second Kudus got injured our results fell of a cliff - he was carrying our attack in the first 1/3 of the season before his form dropped a bit and teams doubled up on him.

If we can upgrade on him long term, great, but short/medium term LW is far more of a priority. Kudus is the least of our issues in attack atm. RDZ wanted to sign him for Brighton so let's see what he can do with him.

100% If he is only up against 1 defender and our other wing is just as tricky, then we'll put the defs on the back foot and give our runners room to play. Especially useful when they aren't elite at taking players on.

Yeah, while he's brainless at times and can hold onto the ball too long, he's literally one of the best 1v1 dribblers in Europe. With a functional system and an attacking coach, I think he'll be a very useful option to have in the squad. His ball retention alone makes him extremely useful - other teams just can't get it off him when he shields it.

Yeah, when we had odobert on the other wing, we spent more time in their half, even under Frank. such a shame RDZ had to finish the season with 9 players.

Kudus will benefit from working with RDZ. I can't wait to see how he improves under his coaching.

Was expecting these sort of replies.

But the reality is Richarlison scored 11 league goals last year for a team that finished 17th. Only 9 strikers across the entire league scored more goals than him. For where we currently are, he is not the problem and there is no guarantee that "any cunt" could do better

While we have Richy and Solanke leading the attack, prepare yourself to another bottom half finish, and I don't care who De Zerbi brings in on the wings.

Both are poor finishers, cannot hold the ball up and need five chances to score one goal. Neither have been prolific in their careers and nothing will change that fact.

Great comparison.
Can’t say I saw a lot of most of these players although I watched Brighton and Bournemouth more than any other team bar Spurs.

Already said that I was totally underwhelmed by Baleba when I watched Brighton last year.
Barely watched Everton but in the game I remember watching, Garner completely bossed Forest and Anderson.

While it obviously helps, I don't think you even need an elite number 9 to do well in the PL these days. Woolwich won the league with Gyokeres, who got the same number of non-penalty goals as Rich. Sunderland and Brighton finished in Europe with the likes of Welbeck and Brobbey leading the line, and, while Sesko had his moments, United didn't exactly have a convincing number 9 this season and finished 3rd.

Think our success next season will come far more down to our system and De Zerbi's coaching that whether we have a top striker or not. We'll surely buy a striker of some kind, hopefully an upgrade, but I don't think that's gonna make or break our season. Top 10 is certainly attainable regardless.

I have heard that we are in for Baleba from a mate . Not sure how the feck he would know though. I am assuming that he means Justin Beiber is doing a concert at our stadium .

If true I would not be against it , Baleba not Beiber , Beiber can fuck off
This is better than 99% of the ITKs and journos going at the moment… Herc and Trix eat your heart out :roflmao: I personally really rate Baleba and would love for it to happen, even moreso now.
I said we were going hard for him according to a mate back on page 205 I think . I did caveat it with I wasn’t sure how he would know anything though . I did also say he wasn’t a bullshitter having known him 40 years. So I positioned myself squarely on the fence .
