Its an interesting one.

Defensively "ok" can be absolutely fine, if the system/shape supports it

Just as, a couple of all rounders can do a decent enough job, vs an explicit AM/DM combo for example

But as it is, the balance is so fucked in our group, I just dont know what the real answers are

I cant help feeling the solution will be selling a Bergvall or Gray to allow for incomings to even out the midfield

(far from my preference, but there are going to be some uncomfortable compromises to make it all work imo)

I’ve indicated to you an actual example of how restrictive these covenants can be on a minuscule fraction of the stadium debt yet you still gob off rubbishing that it might actually prevent the investment of the £500m you think is perfectly reasonable for your Football Manager squad overhaul.

Are you saying that Hayden Dalston is offensively good enough to start for us? He will be the central midfield contribution that we are pinning our hopes to create in your opinion?

I think Hackney is good enough to start for us because he is an obvious profile we lack, only reason I mention him is because IMO he's ready to burst onto the scene like Wharton was and he's homegrown, Locatelli is the other one who profiles well but I don't think he's for sale.

Putting aside the issues of getting them to come and getting their clubs to sell them and getting rid of the players necessary to make space for them, not going to spend 400m in a single window.

In your 30 years, was there ever a situation where you’d have given your mate Simon privy on the covenants and contracts of your employers debt?

If the answer is yes, maybe that’s why you are the ex head of finance at whatever it was you said it was
