Senesi and Van Hecke in the top 3

The Van Hecke news makes me wonder if the rumors that Vuskovic has had his head turned by Madrid/Barcelona are true. Hope not but otherwise, don't think it makes sense to spend precious transfer funds to block a supposed generational talent when we need to upgrade in so many other areas of the squad. Would also like him to stay with us to start developing a connection with the team so that it's harder to turn his head going forward (assuming it hasn't been turned already). So I'd go with Vuskovic and Danso at RCB with Gray as emergency cover and spend the funds elsewhere.

IF we send Vuskovic out on loan again, I think he needs to go to a team that plays on the front foot. At Hamburg, he already proved that he can play for relegation fodder in a low block/back three/hoof it long system. But I think he now he needs to show what he can do on the ball - I'd like Vuskovic to do that with us and learn from DZB - But maybe Brighton will take him loan in exchange for a lower Van Hecke fee.

You do realize you’re basically asking for the same type of transfer window everyone, including you, said was completely unrealistic.

If our window ended up with the team you put there, that would be a window from the club that could convince me they are serious about doing things differently

Well yes your right. Having said that (and im going to get alot of stick for this) id be equally as happy if I took Jackson and hecke out and put solanke and danso in and that would reduce the total outlay.

Plenty of rumours around him signing a new deal then going on loan again

Senesi/VDV + Van Hecke/Danso is perfectly fine for next season with no europe

Season after, when we're in the CL, Vuskovic can come and replace Danso and work his way into the team

I have watched a couple of games Vuscovic in Germany. His short passing is very good. In those games he did a lot of long passing too (definitely instructed to do so) and they were not too shabby either. Of course long passes are are always more difficult to pull off. Anyway, I'd not be worried about his passing.

Not that I am against of signing Van Hecke, but we are strenghtening a defence that is already quite good. Were does that leave the midfield and attack? And what does it mean for Vuscovic (ready to play his part IMO). Will we spend a lot of money on Van Hecke only to find out that Vuscovic s as good and that money could have been spend on midfield/attack.

Certainly Romero and Dragusin are off. What about Danso? He off too or do we send Vuscovic on loan, which would be mistake IMO. Vuscovic needs to start to feel like a Yiddo or he will definitely be off within a year.

Van Hecke is class. Him and VDV will be a great pairing imo.

This falls under being ambitious imo, adding serious quality and a player who has a great attitude and knows RDZ well.

An excellent signing. Goodbye to Romero for sure.

I'd keep Vuskovic around. Just feels a bit pointless buying them young, them being massively successful on loan just to block their path. Van Hecke is very good, like him a lot but i look at our teams creativity and goals and think the circa £30m/£35m would be better used elsewhere. Still it would leave us stronger at centre back depth wise than we've probably ever been.

Vuskovic isn't ready to start in the PL for a top 6 side which is what we want to be

It's somewhat ambitious but remains firmly in the opportunistic category for me with his contract ending in a year.

Would we be buying van hecke of he had 3 or 4 years left on his deal?

Until I see us buy a first choice target in form who dramatically improves starting 11 from a team who aren't already feeling pressure to sell then I don't buy this ambition stuff from the Lewis family

Don’t back track now

And it’s not about swapping those 2 in and out when De Zerbi has said we need 2 players for every position

Haha im not back tracking. I genuinely dont mind solanke and danso when the current ST market is so poor. With those 2 instead of hecke and Jackson my expectations for next season would be just as high tbh.

Also iirc youre transfer list you posted looked way more costly especially with regards to wages!

We will have 2 players for each position regardless.

Opportunistic or just smart business?

IF we sign him, we'll be getting one of the best defenders in the league - below valuation - whom RDZ loves...
