I think that’s why Maguire wasn’t also picked. He’s always been a regular starter. But had he gone he would have been benched. No good having him around if he’s got a face like a smacked arse. He’s no oil painting to begin with. I think someone like Burn will just be extremely pleased to be there on the other hand.

It’s clear Tuchel wants as much harmony in the squad as possible, which is why a few big names aren’t there.

You could even extend that to Palmer who seems like a bellend to me.

Isn’t Palmer just really thick?

On the bellend front, may I offer you something in a Michael Olise?

I think we've stumbled upon a common denominator...

I'll see your Palmer, Olise and Matty Cash, and raise you pretty much 85% of modern day footballers...

Not counting Ben Davies!!!

That is a disgrace tbf...
What did you expect? I said ages ago that this tournament is going to be about profits, not football.
They just need a coupla fans to pass out (or worse) of dehydration because they couldn't access free water and this whole thing will blow up!!

Service in Europe is much better than America. In the US it’s so insincere and you KNOW theyre only doing it for the tip.

The insincere efficient service in the U.S. is light years better than the authentic crap service you get in Europe. I don’t care if they’re only doing it for a tip. I don’t need my wait staff to love me or share their life story. Most people only work for the money.

A lot of places are adding automatic 20% tips to 'help people who aren't used to tipping culture'.

:nawty:
Nope.

A restaurant can only legally add a service charge if you’re notified ahead of time. Check the menu where such a notice would be printed. Typically, this would be done for parties of a certain size or more.

If they add it at the end of the meal, you can politely tell them to fuck off

Just reporting what I'd read in the media.
A number of restaurants use a device that has a second screen to add tip. They might default the screen to a 15% or 20% tip, basically challenging the customer to overwrite the default (and ‘look cheap’ in doing so).
I’ve even seen this used in ‘take out only’ places on the coasts.

Having said that, leaving nothing in Boston will have an angry waitress chasing after you when you leave, hurling abuse.

If you don’t need your waitstaff to love you, why do you like the cheesy, saccharine service in America?

By your own standard, you should prefer European service.

I think you’ve been watching too much TV showing homey, midwestern diners maybe.

I don’t get cheesy saccharin service. I get fast, efficient, unobtrusive service where my coffee cup is refilled before I ask for it.

I probably spend 10 weeks or so every year outside of the U.S. — mostly but not exclusively in Europe or Asia — and absolutely fucking nowhere beats urban U.S. service.

My friends who drink tell me that the bartenders in New York (even if the service can be surly) are the most efficient on the planet.
