I feel like this is just patently untrue at this point, basically every promoted club in the last 6 or 7 years that stayed up have bought as many or more than 9-10 players in an effort to stay up, Sunderland this season is a perfect example. We were just barely better than becoming a championship side so if we're serious about a comfortable finish that is the sort of squad turnover we should in fact be looking at.
