I think he’s probably being very canny and leaving everything on the table for next summer. A year is a long time in football, but if he’s desperate for the PL record he will have to come home soon.

I think that pretty much all clubs have list of players that they track, sometimes for years but just because they're on that list doesn't necessarily mean that it's not a choice backed by the manager.
Clubs will have lists of 100's of players, of all ages, that they track and if we know that certain players are keen to join, the will probably rise up the order.
We've heard it loads in the past when players have signed and said things along the lines of "well the club has shown an interest in me for a while".
Tracking players and making them aware of it can be a good tool for persuading them to sign, because players want to feel wanted.
I don't think any of the players we're being linked to are bad players, so I don't see why RDZ wouldn't think that he could work with them.
I'm sure it's the same with every club.
If he’s coming back it’s likely for family reasons which would put us in a favourable position.
If he goes to Manchester he might as well have just stayed in Munich from a logistics perspective.
