Yeah, I was referring to the other guy half a page back who gave us a lecture on the fall of the American Empire. I haven’t said that we are superior in all things only follow local customs and tip wait staff appropriately which seems to have put someone’s back up.

What an absolutely nonsensical question.
Why don’t you ask all the US haters why they watch US TV and movies or wear Yankees caps?
Do you have to tip for every drink you get at the bar?

I don't mind the tipping thing, but hotels charging a "residence fee" is really annoying. What is the hotel bill for it if isn't for residence?

Before anyone trots out "it's a friendly" "it's hot" "pitch is shite" or some other vapid excuse.

This is absolute dollop...

Hope it's not a marker for the whole WC. Sideways, backwards, walk, jog, sideways, backwards, backwards, amble, jog, backwards...

Boring

Horrendous take

I watched France the other day and they were pants.

Heat is affecting everyone not just England and these are obviously friendlies so played at low intensity.

It's a bit Karen to be getting upset by these warm up matches.

It’s literally just to acclimatise and for fitness.. it’s bloody boiling out there. Nobody wants an injury and nobody wants to break a sweat.

The moaning about England in recent years is so boring. Two finals, a semi and a quarter. We’ve been very good. It made sense before this when we were utterly shite.

Every bloody friendly people are annoyed we aren’t 5-0 up and playing tiki taka.

It's 'the thing' to do by casuals.

I don’t drink alcohol but as far as I know it’s standard.
Tip bigger on the first, perhaps?
Chances are, with a decent bartender, you’ll get a buyback that will cover your tips.
I ask because a mate went across America and said he was screamed at for not tipping when he got a drink at his first bar (I am sure it is different where you go). He went on to tip the rest of the trip, it was just a huge shock.

Lee Dixon is like if a Tesco meal deal was a person. His voice would give you a softy even if a young Salma Hayek was standing naked in front of you. Why is he commentating, his voice is more boring than this fucking match.

Yeah, I feel you on that.
It’s basically a tiering system that ‘allows’ me to use amenities that should have been free in the first place. I don’t want to pay an extra $15 to send a fax.
( Hopefully, the fax machine is working).

As I wrote a few pages back, I’ve seen bartenders (and wait people) get really pissed when they feel they’ve been shortchanged by poor or non-tippers.

I just google the local customs on tipping and follow the recommendation. It makes life easier.

Funnily enough, I just engaged in a lengthy conversation with Americans tourist to South Korea on tipping etiquette there. It has had a no tip culture but….

You've just reminded me of when I worked in a bar as a teenager. A coachload of Scandinavians came in and ordered drinks. I was as green as grass back then, so when they all tried to tip me, I kept giving them their money back and explaining that it wasn't necessary.
