I think Tuchel is overloading way too much on Kane's importance, as clear as it is.

Nothing to do with Kane not being able to cope with the pressure, but on the basis that if he gets injured or tires excessively, you question if other players will believe they are able in his absence.

Far better, in my opinion, to always talk about all players being important and needing to be at their very best when called upon.

I think defensively we will struggle. I don't see a world cup-winning defence.

The guy you think is a "fraud" was part of a WC winning defence last time out so I don't think you need to worry about that.

He can play there for spells as a 3rd choice if required. Obviously his best position is on the left cutting inside. I’d have more faith in Toney if he was still scoring goals in the PL.

I like Deuterz Deuterz and dont want to upset him we are miles off. Mostly the environment will be an up hill battle.

It doesn’t upset me. I’ve heard the same stuff for the last 4 tournaments and we did well or exceptionally well in all of them.

When we do well again I won’t need to say anything because people will just hit the reset button for the next tournament.

There is a perpetual negativity and underrating of England which is understandable based on history.

We are “miles off” because it’s going to be hot and because of some underwhelming friendlies. Ok then, let’s see.

I do agree that the heat doesn’t help us at all, but you can say the same thing for a lot of nations taking part this summer. I think the first game against Croatia is when we will see how we might do this tournament. They’re always a tricky and difficult opponent despite not being particularly good on paper. If England win that game and win it well then nobody is going to remember these friendly games. Likewise if Scotland lose their opener, nobody is going to give a toss that they beat Bolivia 4-0.
