Transfers Summer 2026 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Which other club and manager who won the league and got the CL final has a fetish for CBs? It’s just the way of modern football. If you can negate the other team’s pressing you can control the game.
And as someone else pointed out. This is the guy that Brighton have earmarked to replace Van Hecke. So we could be hedging our bets here by putting pressure on Brighton to sell. Or we just go for this guy instead.

We are better off just getting a passer and more technical player, not only for passing ability but to receive the ball on the half turn when the ball is pinged into him, makes a massive difference.

Ali Gold said that the club are looking at a passer as well, we lack so much in that area.
De Zerbi did say he wants to keep Palhinha, which means the club need to pay Bayern, I don't know where all the money is going to come from to get all these positions covered in this transfer window. There's a large transfer debt, and the revenue isn't very much more than the operating expense of running the club/stadium.

• Total Revenue for the year increased by 7% to £565.3m (2024: £528.2m)
• Operating expenses (before player trading) increased by 15% to £521.5m (2024: £453.6m)

I was just adding my 2 bob's worth. I've been banging on about getting a deep lying playmaker but these CBs would negate the need for such a player. It makes Palhinha's limitations more plausible, and balances the team's attributes.

I agree with the logic, although I think Id still rather more of a 'baller than Palhinha in the midfield

2 x 8s able to both pass/move/carry/tackle etc - a couple of busy fuckers able to do a bit of everything - I like the idea of

Maybe, I think he was blowing smoke up his arse personally but let's see and the club haven't bitten at the price that Bayern are asking for so he's obviously not a priority.

It may end up we sign both Palhinha and a passing 6.

We really have a fetish for centre backs these days. I’m all for us signing top young talent, but surely van Hecke, Senesi, VDV & Danso with Vuskovic waiting in the wings is enough for the foreseeable future no? And we haven’t even sold Romero or Dagusin yet. I wonder if De Zerbi also wants Danso sold as well as those two, maybe not good enough on the ball for his liking.

We really need to be spending big up top instead. We’ll have a Fortnum & Mason defence with a Poundland front line.

I can't see how a possible move for Ordóñez has nothing to do with van Hecke...
These are the current numbers (11) CBs at Spurs right now (yes, some of the will most probably be sold)....

LCB:
Micky van de Ven
Marcos Senesi
Ben Davies
RCB:
Cristian Romero
Radu Drăgușin
Luka Vušković
Kevin Danso
Kota Takai
Ashley Phillips
Alfie Dorrington
James Rowswell

Way I see it, the bold ones are the only one's who are AT Spurs to actually play right now.
Rest will be sold/loaned/bench warmers at best.

Me too but are we going to get everything we need all in this transfer window?

Probably not, but - in a team where we have ball players in defence, it might even grant the like of Bergvall/Gray a chance to play more

As much as Im grateful we had Palhinha this season, I just dont want to sign him :D I think at best he's a squad player, I certainly wouldnt want him as a regular feature in the team

Wonder what the hold up is with announcing Senesi when Robertson was announced fairly sharpish.
Maybe a double whammy with his Mrs joining the womens team?

We should sign him, loan him to the budesliga, watch him own that league and then randomly buy another CB and loan him out again.

Tbf to Shotgunofmichalebrow Shotgunofmichalebrow he’s not liked Vlahovic for a very long time so I assume he has watched him.

From my own perspective I’ve only seen him for Serbia and like 2 games. And all I can say is it takes a lot to look more limited than Mitrovic but he managed it.
How many great players have had bad games?

The list of players who have owned it in the Bundesliga and have struggled in the Prem is much, much, much, much, much longer than the list of those who have owned it there and successfully transitioned in season following their move.

More experienced players than Vuscovic

And the fact you won't at least accept there is a huge risk there, and there is a fuck tonne of precedent to back up the feeling of risk, makes your stance on this disengenuous.

This is so boring because we didnt just pull this name ouf of our ass. We discussed Dusan Vlahovic over a period of about a year, on this forum Long before the great Waldo saw a YouTube video of a player who no longer exsists if he ever did.

I watched him play four times in person at the
Stadio Artemio Franchi between 2020 and 22 at his best and guess what I rushed here to rave about him. From that moment on I watch him every singel game I could. So probably twenty five times as I have a house in Milan and my wife has one in Venice. I also watched his non performances against England. I also went to see him against Inter at the San Siro and then the penny dropped he is SLOW ponderous, carrying too much bulk and not actually a Nine. Since then he has become less and less effective.

If you are of Serbian heritage Id forgive your utterly stupid myiopia, we've had this with Romero and Argentines with Ange and Australians ...with the English and Harry Kane. Willfully blind to their short comings but to still be banging the drum for a player as manifestly athletically limited as Dusan Vlahovic in 2026, deary me. He will not scale up to the EPL RDZ wants a high pressing forward line and you are talking up Vlahovic it's not going to happen. Don't at me on this Wally it's boring you'll be going on ignore.
Do you watch much German football live? Recently you have said that Vusovic is very good but you have seen better. In another post you said Vusovic was world class.
