Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The hardest part about progressing from youth football to senior football is that most 19 year olds are not physically strong enough but that is not the case with Vuskovic who is fully developed. Bergvale & Gray are developing well and are not shit. However Vuskovic is a class above them. He has excelled in Germany and after the season he has had there is already an International player. I cannot see how a loan to Spain or Italy will help and anywhere else is a downwood move. Some have suggested one of the promoted teams in the PL but why would they play him rather than the CB that got them promoted.

You say he has a contract to 2030, 4 years. If we let this year go and in the knowledge if he gets to the last year we would be forced to sell , that just leaves 2 years. You say he will sign an extension but why with big clubs interested. We need to get him indoctrinated into the Spurs club so he wants to stay. That will never happen on loan all that will do is show him what it is like in other leagues.
The thing is though, that defenders tend to reach their peak later than the more advanced players because there's so much to learn about the art of defending.
Jus being a physical specimen doesn't translate to being able to defend in a team, against top quality opposition every week.

He wants to be playing and learning every week so if we can't offer him that, and the signs are that RDZ doesn't feel that we can, then loaning him is the best option.

And yes, while maybe he will get his head turned by the mainly German media and their propaganda but he's currently on a long contract and has been so since he was 16 iirc.
The lad used to wear Spurs shinpads during his first loan.

The most important thing that we can do is give him the opportunity to fulfill his potential, now worry about things that may never happen.

I can't see how a possible move for Ordóñez has nothing to do with van Hecke...
These are the current numbers (11) CBs at Spurs right now (yes, some of the will most probably be sold)....

LCB:
Micky van de Ven
Marcos Senesi
Ben Davies
RCB:
Cristian Romero
Radu Drăgușin
Luka Vušković
Kevin Danso
Kota Takai
Ashley Phillips
Alfie Dorrington
James Rowswell
You're reaching a bit with the RCB list, especially adding Rowswell to it.
Cuti will most likely be off, along with Dragusin and Dorrington too. Phillips may stick around but Takai and Vusko will probably be loaned again.

tldr: Thinks we need more of a passer, thats not Scott, who is more like what we already have

Hard to tell imo. Ive watched alot of RDZ analysis and tactical videos and whilst his cm's can pass and break lines there not really expansive passers.
His ideal CM is probably very similar to bentancur but just abit better all round. He will often pair up with a physical dm but who can also pass but as I said neither are expansive passers with huge passing ranges.

His CM's are crucial in baiting the press and then being able to use the cb's to help navigate the situation, draw in the opposition and then break free and play to forwards but typically even this is a crisp ball to feet rather than anything exotic.

Edit. And those attributes are held by both Scott who is very good in those tight situations and also baleba who is more a dm but can play.

We really have a fetish for centre backs these days. I’m all for us signing top young talent, but surely van Hecke, Senesi, VDV & Danso with Vuskovic waiting in the wings is enough for the foreseeable future no? And we haven’t even sold Romero or Dagusin yet. I wonder if De Zerbi also wants Danso sold as well as those two, maybe not good enough on the ball for his liking.

We really need to be spending big up top instead. We’ll have a Fortnum & Mason defence with a Poundland front line.

I watched Ecuador vs Guatemala last night, Ordonez played right back during the 2nd half.

Extremely noticeable. Real class, kept his line, passed and moved with clear quality. I'd love to see us get him in, especially if he offers depth at RB as well.

Been thinking similarly, the movement makes the passes a lot of the time, rather than some great vision

Busy players, good technical level, able to pass quickly, move, ride a challenge... I think they would do well under him

On which basis I could understand interest in Scott, but as Shady says - Bergvall (and Gray) can do that job too

I wonder how much of the "we need a deep passer" talk is a hangover from older set ups

Obviously if we can have someone in there who can really pick a pass, thats not bad thing at all - but those players always seem to come with a compromise dont they? (less defensive ability/mobility/something that needs compensating for)

EDIT: Its partly why I think Hackney could be preferred to Scott, slightly better balance
