Management New Manager?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

You'll have to forgive me for assuming it much more likely that you didn't contradict yourself, especially given Ajax' not-so-distant past, and that he read it poorly based on two rather prevalent trends here. Fact of the matter is, Ajax certainly are not the powerhouse they used to be in Europe or Holland, and are indeed constantly being poached by bigger clubs. And I agree with your point that de Boer makes the difference.

Scary to think in that context the "not to distant past" was probably 20 years ago.

huge fan of Ajax, and they certainly were a massive European powerhouse, I dont disagree at all - its just not how I meant it at that point. Quite ambiguous as I read it back, so my bad.

No worries, I was just shaking my head at Gibbs as was of his comment of "unsubstantiated substance" as to de Boer being the best of the remaining opinions, clearly displaying that he had yet to even read the rationale as to why so many favored him.

My apologies to both you and Gibbsy.

That is remarkable it's been so long. Incredible to believe that even Milan was so strong less than a decade ago. TV deals and the atmospheres seen has just drastically changed the face of European football. Incredible.

Someone said they've received quite a few applications, some of intrigue, but as to who they are I've no fuckin clue.

As alternatives though, Hiddink has a great CV?

The reason I want Martinez is he has a bit of a track history of improving teams. Swansea got better, Everton got better etc. I'm also not sure if we have a team of thinkers to adapt to the Dutch way (which is the best way IMO) If we had more Eriksens and Jan's I would not be worried. But we have a pretty mixed bag of mentalities at the club. Not sure how much would stick. AVB had a nightmare implementing his tactics. Tim had none and it seemed to work better.

Every time I see Ancelottis name a gallon of blood dissapates from my body into my pants. Not saying that it's likely, I do the same when I hear Holly Willoughbys name and understand my limitations. Ancelotti would be ridiculous though, stranger things have happened, football is surprising cliché:adegrin:

GreyFox on SC said today that from what he's heard, he would be "gobsmacked if it's Poch." JJ and Gards both seem to be backpeddling as well, saying something along the lines that they think Poch turned us down.

I would treat their ITK with a pinch of salt, it's embarrassing. These are the attention seeking whores who were claiming 100% it was Poch and that Willian was a done deal remember? And then they went deathly quiet for months afterwards prolly in shame. Don't they sell fridges for a living?

Well, while I do treat all ITK with a pinch of salt (context permitting), the Willian result cannot be chalked up to their fault. When the guy's at the ground and having completed his medical, you have to concede there's no way they could've called what would happen next. Impossible. Some will be right, most will be wrong. But it's never worth not discussing as long as contexts and trends are considered.

Beeb are running a story this morning with him saying there has still been no contact. Smokescreen? Some are saying FDB goes on holiday next week. Then there's that supposed pic of Chipmunkettino at the training ground.

I dunno what to think anymore. I've given up praying for my top choice and I'm resigned to getting whoever we get. Business as usual come the start of the season (and I mean that in a positive way).

I saw an interview with Thiago of Athletico and he was speaking about his manager,

" he is like a god to us, we do whatever he says, if he asks us to jump from a bridge, we jump"

This is exactly what we need, I don't care what the new managers name is but if our players feel like that toward him then he is the man for us..

I think the club has settled on FDB a while ago, cannot see any other.

I'm sure Bentaleb felt a similar way about Timothy The Greatest. . .
