2015/16 Kit Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Or

we are going to have a similar 2nd kit to the French shirt.......but I know, it's completely ridiculous to think that two companies working in exactly the same industry might not come up with entirely different designs for a navy short sleeved shirt.

Haha my friend I don't care enough one way or the other to debate such a thing, just relaying what the guy pointed out with his close-ups. It could very well be the kit, or not and it'll be similar to the French one anyway, but when you consider UA have been impressively tight with any information or snippets as to the kits for going on three years now and that each of these portrayals have featured some tinkering (such as this latest having a white badge), it seems to me as though the gentleman on SC's points have some validity to them.

Can't believe no-ones picked up on this yet? COME ON PEOPLE IT'S BEEN OVER 40 MINUTES!!! :adewtf:

Still, doesn't look like this years top and if it is as simple as it looks it should be nice.

Also it's nice to see Siggy's goal is getting the vote, really, really great goal.

Regarding the red, I remind the forum of two posts from Coalhada Coalhada :

I was talking to a guy from AIA at the event thing on Saturday, and this subject was broached. Specifically, "why not put your logo in blue on the home shirts, eh? Eh?"
He said "we asked Tottenham if they would change their brand colours". We sort of chuckled politely. Fun times.
Actually, he was a perfectly nice guy.

Pace Vincent Tan, Chinese people don't care about the colour red all that much, in this case it's just AIA's thing like it was Thompson's.

Let's put a few myths to bed about that AIA logo, ugly as it is.

It isn't red because AIA are an Asian company and red is lucky in Asia.
1) Red is the colour of a lot of lucky things, but it's not an absolute association. Plenty of lucky things aren't red. Those cats with one paw raised, for example. It isn't that big a deal.
2) AIA are based in HK but they're not "an Asian company" in any meaningful cultural way - they're a bit of AIG (from America) that got sold off.

The reason we've got a big red "AIA" on the home shirt is this: it's the one you can see best on TV.
I spoke to one of the guys from AIA who arranged the deal. (If you're curious about why there are no cup 3rd kits for sale, it's because he's got them. In his garage or something.)
According to him, they made a lot of different mock-up shirts -- some with AIA's mountain logo, some with the letters; some in red, some in blue, etc.
Then they filmed players running around playing (Michael Dawson was one of them) and the big red "AIA" was the only one that didn't disappear at a distance or when the players were moving quickly (which implies someone other than Dawson must also have been part of the test). "We're spending a lot of money," he said, "so we want people to see the logo, or what's the point?"

So there you go.

I didn't see that second post, thanks for pointing these out.

And it's very true, companies undoubtedly see our gear and would love to splash red across it. Not only does it stand out with our colors as the background, but red has been scientifically shown to be the color most immediately recognized by the human eye (and every other color-seeing species).

That having been said, I do hope it's like this year's cup shirts in which only the home was red.
