Big Fat Nacer Chadli.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What a game from the big lad. I love to see him get into full sprint chasing a ball in behind - you forget how quick he actually is until he turns on the burners. With him and Kane bossing defenders with their sheer size as well, it creates space for others to drift. Keep the performances coming Nacer and you'll be fucking golden!

Thelonious Thelonious Time for your Harry Redknapp speech my man......

"Yeah the boy had potential, we could all see that, but I just called him Dolphin Skin and after that he was flying"

Probably joint motm (with Kane) ... if not really close to it.
He was immense today.

Hazard really is different class - by far Chelsea's best player. But fair play to Chadli because he's been great so far this season for us, seems to be scoring a lot of goals too. :chadliwtf:

The only thing Hazard has is an extra yard of pace imo... That's a massive difference though. Chadli has the technical ability but he'll never be able to dribble like that without the pace. Otherwise he is an absolute Rolls Royce of a player.

if im honest, chadli has really come on in leaps and bounds this year...too my surprise..
I think your right in identifying harzards extra yard of pace but id also add a lower centre of gravity...harzard seems to be able to turn on a dime, chadli can dribble but imo its not the same type of dribbling, mainly because his taller

It will be Kane that everyone is talking about, and deservedly so, but the story could easily have been a Chadli hat trick blowing Chelsea out of the water. Glad he at least got on the scoresheet for his monstrous performance. Those darting runs, those first touches, and those powerful bursts, wow. I can't wait to see more of him in combination with Kane and Eriksen now that their confidence is surely sky high.

We're actually debating Chadli's performance vs Hazard's right now. Just think about that for a second. And a top performance by Hazard at that.

I'm unsure if there has been a harsher critic of Chadli than myself, so it's pleasing to see my tough love act is working:pochsmirk:

I am delighted that he is playing well, and if he continues this form I will happily stand in a corner with a large plate full of my own words being spoon feed to me.

I think Chadli is one of those players like james Milner, who is not necessarily going to set a match alight with pace and skill, but he seems a very tactically astute and physically fit player. The sort that any decent side needs, and allows the more flair players to perform.

His position and movement against Chelsea was straight out of a tactics manual. Luckily he's also got some prett handy finishing technique and the fitness to be dangerous.

7 goals and 4 assists in 14 league starts so far. That has to be the best return from a winger (take out Bale's wonder season) we've had in as long as I can remember.

Go on Dolphin!

Think you're doing him a bit of disservice. He's quite quick, just has slow acceleration. He's strong, he's technically quite good, decent dribbling, great finishing, a team player, good decision making. He's quite a bit more than your post might suggest.

I don't really disagree with you. I guess I'm just trying to say that even with those attributes, he's not going to be the Bale type player that sets the world on fire every game. But quietly and efficiently he's using his attributes to massively contribute to the team.
I think some fans expected him to be some sort of pacy marauding winger but he's not

I think he's better than that mate. Makes me feel really dirty but I think he's a bit like Pires. He's got clever feet that can make up for slow acceleration, great movement off the ball and fantastic composure in front of goal and actually pretty quick when he hits his stride, just not so much with the ball.

I think people were expecting the wrong things of him but he could turn out to be pretty fucking awesome I reckon. When he was taking pelters last year I didn't get it as you could just see these great feet... More to come imo.

Just had a look back.

Already has more goals in a 38 game league season than any of Ginola, Lennon, Davies, Nielsen, Bentley, Ziege, Rosenthal, Barmby, Anderton..

Can't find any real assist stats.

Chadli looks so much better this season and it's been great to see. Having said that, his stats are a bit deceiving. It seems like in some games he gets his goal or assist and you don't notice him much the rest of the game. Of course that isn't a bad thing as he's producing but I do think those numbers flatters him a bit.

He played his best game against Chelsea though and was a threat every minute he was on the pitch. If that is a sign of things to come our attack will be terrifying especially if Lamela hits a patch of form. Really pleased with this guy so far this season and it looks like he is continuing to improve which is all you can ask for.

What makes all the difference for me is him making continuous runs in behind the fullback, making himself available for the pass.

I wish he would do it earlier, as in not only when we have the ball in the final third. I wish he'd do it more early as when we just won the ball and make himself available and strech play. He's pretty quick and clearly has a good vision of play.

In an ideal world both our wingers should be watching when Eriksen gets the ball and turns to face goal. In that very instant they should both be accelerating for the deep ball in behind the fullbacks

Soldado does that though, runs early, all the time, and Dembele or Paulinho or whoever has the ball just passes it sideways and backwards and it comes to nothing.
