Match Tottenham Hotspur v Leicester City (Home) 21st Mar 3pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The problem is simple. When we lose the ball, we just don't do enough. There is a first wave of pressing from the forwards/midfielders, but if they get bypassed then it's just a straight run into our final 3rd and an easy pass or cross into a dangerous area. We either need that initial press to be way more savage and coordinated, or our forwards/MFrs need to realise if it's not worth pressing and instead get themselves back into defensive shape a lot faster. Right now it's very very easy for teams to counter against us, because firstly our passing isn't good enough so we WILL give them the ball quite often, and secondly we can't react fast enough to the counter.

I think the problem is that there's not enough cover from Mason in between walker and Dier.
If you want bentaleb he's usually back there filling in the space but Mason seems to want to be playing much further up. It might be a tactical chink in the armour of course. If you want Mason to engage in the initial press and use his aggression, if he doesn't make it there's going to be a lot of space in behind.
That means Townsend has to be a lot more alert to helping out walker. Which to be fair he was doing at the start but at 2-0 it seems both him and Chadli are mre worried about getting themselves on the score sheet than making sure we are compact defensively.

We either need to push the opposition back further into their half and basically be playing with CBs near the halfway line so that the pitch is smaller and we can crowd them out immediately as soon as they get the ball, which is risky and requires everything to go like clockwork. Or we need to get everyone running back like dogs to get themselves in front of the ball when the opposition have it. Right now it's neither one thing or the other.

Just in from watching Home at the cinema ( thank fuck it was in 3D so I could wear the glasses to cover my tears at the end )

Who's this H KANE lad who's scored twice?
