And I've seen others question his work ethic, and say he's a bit greedy. No idea if that's true. But the fact that no one wants him tells me they know something I don't.

The ripped black box on Poch's thumb drive will know.

Talk about transfers in here or I'll start accepting some of the sin bin votes from this thread.

Glad you popped in....your sin bin is fucking shambolic

There are no transfers my friend...can we talk freely about our feelings related to the window though?

Or is this twitter copy and paste thread?

Try actively modding your own site if you can be arsed, or maybe take away that shitty sin bin, where its basically cunts banning cunts. No one here is any better, despite the fake happy clapping and preaching.

You have an ignore function...why accept bin votes from people who point blank fucking refuse to use it?

I agree. This thread is getting infested with a load of shit. This should be for transfer related tweets and discussing It. Be it moaning about levy and his pathetic lack of activity in the striker department or other related discussions but anything off topic ruins the thread

Levy needs to sign a striker now. No more fucking around trying to save a few quid.

We have 1 available striker! It's a joke. He has let the club and supporters down. I have no doubt Poch is not happy about the situation either but he can hardly say anything in public.

Get Berahino signed up asap!!!
can u imagine if tim was still in charge.
he would bring up the fact we have 1 striker about 5 times in every interview.
even if we lost 5-4

[formation=4411, Lloris, Walker, Alderwiereld, Vertonghen, Rose, NJie', Bentaleb, Eriksen, Chadli, Kane, Austin][/formation]

I'd like to see this. Kane has the work rate to get back and cover whilst supporting Austin or whoever we bring in. My only concern would be too lightweight in CM and not enough cover for Tobes and Jan. TOby said himself we need more cover from the CM for the defence.
We would get rolled over with that formation against decent opposition.

I think there will be a connection.
- The less we spend on players in the next few years the more of the stadium we can self-finance with the new TV money.
- The more of the stadium we can self-finance, the less we have to borrow.
- The less we have to borrow, the shorter time we have to carry the debt repayment.
- The shorter time we have to carry big debt repayments, the faster we see increased revenues that can be invested in players.

So in a relatively short time we should have a fantastic new stadium in our natural home and have a big jump in revenue without debt servicing eating it up. It makes sense to me.

Well that's wonderful Daniel thank you.

There are quite a few other points to add to your notes including; we have the income from the NFL deal as well and that there won't be big revenues maximised if the stadium doesn't sell out - a risk if we declined too far too quickly by 2019/2020. But anyway, none of it has anything to do with my post. Whatever the connection, I'm pointing out that Levy said it wouldn't affect our transfer dealings and I agree that it won't need to affect them as the spend has been negative for 5years anyway. In other words, Levy has told us exactly as it is but left it to somehow be spun as a positive.

My mentality is we play shit football more of ten than we play good football. I think we have shit players in the team, and a weak squad.

Would you like me to post the Poch positive thing again, where I can prove I dont think the whole club is shit?

Quick to tell me to "live with your views", yet you cant live with mine, so you make them into what you want them to be.
We're not playing "shit" football, but it's certainly not great or beautiful either. Shit football is what Stoke plays and what we played under AVB.

We've had this discussion on here a couple of times before, reaching a top 4 finish is an achievement but nothing more than that. Its almost insulting how much it means to some people in comparison to good old fashioned silverware.

Hmmm, thing is that the clubs who win the most silverware happen to also be the ones who have the most money due to being in the CL. It's not like the two factors are mutually exclusive.

EDIT - fun fact, only 4 teams have won the FA Cup outside of CL regulars in the last 29 years and one of them was us.

However, I would like to see us prioritise the Europa league more. Last season it was an unfortunate clash with the knockout game being just before the League Cup final, but most of the time that won't be the case and one of the few outstanding records we hold over that lot down the road is our European trophy count. It used to be the FA cup that I held up as 'our' competition, but they've raced ahead now, so lets not ever be in the position where they overtake us in European silverware.

For me, that means we prioritise League (for CL qualification) AND Europa League over FA Cup and League Cup. If we do well enough in the two main competitions then finals of the FA and League Cup will come along anyway due to improvements in our squad made possible by increased wages.

* double edit - err, something something transfer related (Case)

Chairman - We have no interest in selling Saido

WEST Bromwich Albion have today rejected an offer for Saido Berahino from Tottenham Hotspur.

Chairman Jeremy Peace commented: “We have no interest in selling Saido which is what I have told Daniel Levy.

“I know we are living in an age where no club can say ‘never’ about the possibility of selling a player.

“However, the prospect of selling Saido is simply not on our agenda.

“We are going forward with Saido very much in our plans and still striving to add players to improve the balance of our squad.”

The amount of fucking pretentious hindsight filled nonsense based on two games into the season on this thread is staggering. What's the point in having Poch and the man mostly responsible of buying Southamptons successful squads over the last few years if we're not letting them get through the one window without chastising them. If I remember correctly Southampton left the majority of their business to the last day of the window last year and that seemed to work okay for them. I love shiny new things as much as the next person but I'm resigned we have to wait.

(Also if Stephen Ireland was fresh from a different league and he put that performance in on Saturday half this boards would be fucking fuming we didn't sign him first. Football is form.)
