It’s a shame - especially at a time when away match tickets are so hard to get. The U23s would be great for 1882. You can get some fun lower league away games including terrace action. It would be great to get 1-2k noisy fans to these.
Coincidence that the youth era of Kane, Townsend, Mason, Carroll, etc. coincided with 1882? Academy faucet seems to have slowed to a drip now....supporters used to be excited about what was growing in the academy, now we're in large swaths getting a little goonish - pissing and moaning about net spend and not breaking the bank to sign big names.
I know they are busy people like us all, but in reality it was up to the fighting cock boys to fly the mast. I just don't get the impression Flav cares about it anymore. I remember Chelsea away youth cup was fun, although a bit of drama on here after when people actually got to meet each other.
Chelsea Youth away and Woolwich U23 at Underhill were not to be missed games.

Yes, Woolwich was great. I remember some Woolwich kids after arguing about their support. One kid was saying "we were alright and we would do that". The rest shot him down acknowledging that level of atmosphere for a youth game is not possible for them, as was proved when they came to the Lane for a youth game after and we completely out sang them. After that game, It was hilarious watching someone running away from the police holding a flare. He just wouldn't let it go. Needless to say it was not difficult for the police to find him.
