Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

My guess is it will be

Forster
Emerson Romero Dier Davies Perisic
Sarr Skipp
Kulu Kane Son.

and then the usual 75 minutes and 87 minute subs.

Everything will depend on how good or bad the other team is. From our side it will be the same old bullshit.
Knowing conte that is prbly what he’ll pick. He wouldn’t stray too much from his small block of players notwithstanding the enforced changes in midfield. However I have feeling he may trust both Sarr and skipp in CM and could play a defender there or even peri.

He is aggressive defensively when the other team is trying to play it out of the back, gets a toe in on the ball frequently disrupting the other team's build. He also can take the ball forward to mid-field, but not much further. Just my take.

He was fun for a while as #10 in Jose's set up, but I just don't see he has the nouse or physicality to play CM in this set up........

Subs: Austin, Davies, Dier, Tanganga, Porro, Devine, Kulusevski, Danjuma, Lucas

The Champions league isn't the time to experiment with new formations and tactics - it will be the same drivel we have seen for much of the season, with wingbacks pushing up and an overworked midfield 2. Our front 3 will get marked out of the game and we will fail to defend set pieces.

Likelihood is that we will set back and play the game our for a bore draw.

Crazy sport, mad how much things can change in one week.

Forster
Romero - Dier - Davies
Emerson - Skipp - Sarr - Perisic
Kulusevski - Kane - Son

I think too that that will be the line-up. Only question for me is if they go with Porro, as they may not want the new boy’s confidence to take a hit if he feels he’s been dropped after 1 match.

That was not the dominant defensive record Poch.

Our best games under Poch were when we'd go 3 at the back against a lesser team on the small pitch of the old WHL, paradoxically playing a more defensive team against a lesser opponent, but being so dominant in forcing possession back to us whenever we lost it that we just shattered teams with persistent pressure, they had nowhere to go.

Lloris
Alderwiereld Dier Vertonghen
Walker Wanyama Dembele Rose
Eriksen Dele
Kane

We haven't been in command of games like that since.

We only played that starting eleven twice all that season.

None were glaring Lloris style errors but it did look like he went down for some of the goals like a falling Christmas tree

I'm not sure there has ever been a goal keeper put in a decent performance when they haven't played for a sustained period.

Similar to center backs, it is the routine of playing every week that keeps them sharp. Having kick about and running training drills during the week can only do so much.

Forster is a decent keeper - but you can't expect a match winning performance when he has hasn't played in months - especially when he is thrown to the Wolves with Porro on his debut leaving the backdoor open and Tanganga, Dier and Davies looking like the 3 stooges.

Let’s be honest , the side Conte puts out on Tuesday won’t look much like one the majority of this forum expect .
It'll be exactly what this forum expect as Conte has all the creativity of a snail with a hangover. His inability to come up with competent plans to deal with different attacking sides is nothing short of staggering.

It'll be a variation of, if not exactly

Forster
Emerson Romero Dier Davies Perisic
Skipp Sarr
Kulu Kane Son

A more solid lineup could be

Forster
Emerson Romero Dier Lenglet Davies
Kulusevski Skipp Sarr
Richarlison Kane

Or even

Forster
Emerson Romero Dier Lenglet Davies
Skipp Sarr Perisic
Richarlison Kane

We don't need to win this one, we just need to not lose or at least not lose heavily and we need a few players who can put a shift in.

I like Graham Roberts but my god don’t think I could disagree more. Dier wasn’t that mobile back when he did play midfield. We have Skipp and Sarr two players with far bigger ceilings and more suitable.

Imagine him hiding like he does, but in midfield. Bloody hell.
