Will depend on the nature of the act. The sentencing guidelines council have set down starting points & sentence ranges. I think he's pretty much doomed unless it was the most minor touching over clothing. Even then, the fact that it was planned- the grooming element- catapults it into a different sentencing range. I reckon he will serve a custodial sentence. The length of it will depend on what he actually did. But the grooming makes it way worse.
But yes, you're right. Precedents will certainly have impact.
He's pleaded guilty to one offence of sexual activity with and underage girl and one of grooming.
He had perviously denied this.
However, that sexual activity is said to be kissing and touching her in a sexual way.
Yet he has pleaded not guilty to having full sex with the same underaged girl on 2 occasions.
To me it's very sneaky. Firstly deny the lot until it comes on top, then admit you knew she was underage, groomed her but only kissed and touched he. Then accuse the kid of lying about the sexual intercourse, because, of course, that's more serious.
He won't go to jail, unless he gets found guilty of the other 2 charges. Even then it will be touch and go. If he does it will be for a shit and shave.
Most judges are fucking nonces themselves. He may luck out and ket a kiddy fiddling, whore visiting or masochistic judge.
Even a fully fledged peadophile who has had previous, receiving non custodial sentences beforehand, will only get a couple of years for offence to kids of not even 10yrs of age.
Whereas you will probably get the same sentencing for burglary.
Burgle a bank and you'll get 30yrs ( like those Hatton Garden lot will get). Rob a bank and your getting at least 8yrs first offence.
They value property/money far much more than the lives of children.

He doesn't get off because he's pleaded guilty to the first two charges. He's going down - and if found guilty of the other two charges - for a lot longer.
