Player Alejo Veliz

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

but it was a game vs Brighton.
I thought he was unlucky not to get a 2nd in that game to make it 4-3 with a few mins to go. Anything couldve happened after that. Strikers trying to break through - so much luck involved.

With strikers I also feel that nowsadays they often dont come into their own until maybe mid 20's. The game is a lot more challenging than in the days of 4-4-2 and Michael Owen for instance braking through at 18

Let's be real, if Veliz was here he'd be lucky to even get in a matchday squad let alone see the pitch. Whether at Spurs or on loan in Spain he never looked remotely near the level required - always seemed like a clumsy battering ram of a striker to me that could barely control the ball.

Good to see he's doing well back home but he was tearing that league up 3 years ago - his record there is meaningless. I hope he develops and turns into a top striker one day but just seems like wishful thinking that he's what we're missing or that he'd make any impact for us now.

Lankshear's miles better but even he's nowhere near the finished article and needs more loans and minutes to develop.

He's played about 40 mins for us, scored a goal and got injured.

Got fight and lumped with two shit loans.

If he was in the squad now, I would play him over Richi any time.

Rosario's last game is next Sunday. I have googled what happens next but get different answers from different sources.
Football Chap Football Chap to explain?

If he had stayed with us he would be on loan at Motherwell. It's what we do.

Over 1,200 minutes last season and got 5 goals. Aprox 250 minutes per goal.
Really not sure this kid is PL class.
Doing him massive favour there.
3 of those goals were in Copa Del Rey match against 6th tier side. Based on way Spanish football is set up (2 divisions at our level 3, 4 regional leagues at equivalent of our League 2, 18 regional leagues at equivalent of our National League, you can assume equivalent of an Isthmian League Division one or possibly even below that in playing ability in reality.
La Liga wise he scored 1 goal in 1200 minutes

Gold:

Alejo Veliz (Rosario Central)

It was only the second time in seven league matches in Argentina that Alejo Veliz did not record a goal or assist for Rosario.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed his return to Argentina and has picked up five goals and one assist in his 15 matches back at his old club. Saturday brought a goalless affair though at home against San Lorenzo.

After a couple of unsuccessful loan spells in Spain, Veliz has had exactly the move he needed with a whopping 1,271 minutes to his name so far.

Alejo Veliz (Rosario Central)

Alejo Veliz is loving life back at Rosario and the 22-year-old has netted five goals and recorded one assist in his 15 matches back at his old club.

After a couple of unsuccessful loan spells in Spain, the Argentine has had exactly the move he needed even if it meant stepping back to where his senior career began.

The league season in Argentina ends next month but Spurs announced Veliz's loan as being for the entire 2025/26 campaign and it would take a huge effort for anyone to prise the youngster away again from the club he loves.

Much depends on whether Tottenham receive any interest in the striker that benefits them financially during the transfer window. Even with their own current striker problems, it's unlikely that Veliz will play again for Spurs at this point, barring a miraculous change in fortunes.

Verdict: Stay (barring a January transfer bid)

Veliz not in squad in Rosario last dead rubber game of season.
They lose 1-0 (first loss of season) but still finish top.
Rosario go through to the RO16 of a knockout style tournament so a maximum of 4 more games if they reach the final.

Hands up who else forgot we had him!

Is he still ours?

Was wondering if Veliz could return in January as Rosario season is over but a "new" season begins on January 26 and the OS stated:
Alejo Veliz has joined Rosario Central on loan for the 2025/26 campaign.

Apparently our club has inserted a recall clause for the end of this calendar year.
