The problem is that the owners know the supporters will never stop coming. It's an addiction for us all and they know the numbers will always be there and the stadium will always be full.

What does it matter if they price out some? There are plenty more behind them clamoring to see one of their favorite things in the world. It is as simple as that. What incentive could the possibly have to lower prices? Tragic that it has to be like that.

Dortmund's director of football said this a year ago, "Here, it is our way to have cheap tickets, so young people can come," Watzke said. "We would make €5m more a season if we had seats, but there was no question to do it, because it is our culture. In England it is a lot more expensive. Football is more than a business."

The fact that it is unfathomable that anyone in English football would say say this is the problem.

Great video, he puts the point across well.

I'm bored of all this complaining about ticket prices though, it's all about supply and demand. If people didn't like the prices and simply stopped attending, then the prices would plummet, becoming affordable for everyone. They don't, they won't leading to be nothing to do about it. It's a simple case of, if you don't see the value in what you're paying, simply stop paying the cost.

The same applies for this StubHub malarkey, it's been made exploitable so it will be exploited. The only thing that will stop it, like before, is if people stop using it. Which won't happen.

People do stop attending, the people that attend in their place are largely less vocal in the stadiums.

then why are the ticket prices in germany (with a much higher demand) something like 3-10 times cheaper than the english equivalent?

Yes, every Bundesliga club (maybe more divisions too) have to have at least a 51% share in the club owned by the members and fans. The rest can be owned by whoever they want.
