I've said from day one that this kid would be a world class player.

I remember watching him at Orient (Tom Carroll too, but lesser) and I knew he had something about him.

He's going to be a major star for us.

Well, so long as he gets the chance....

Great balance, a fucking left foot!, tallish, rapid and a good football brain.

It was a pleasure watching him live today.

Hellfire. He could play lw and Lennon rw.

Was not impressed with Chadli today. One paced and ordinary, could be a bum bum buy.

Rather save the 30m or so quoted for Lamela and maybe put it towards another striker (If Ade leaves) + New stadium..

Would be nice to see us place a bit more trust in our academy players, especially after letting caulker leave!
 
I'm happy for him to have the same reputation that Lennon has had: somewhat lacking in one area, supposedly, but quietly brilliant.

Just can't identify what he may be lacking. Therefore worried he may go the Bale route...

Can't agree on Chadli, looks like he's got good control and he can cross the ball, looks like he could be a player. Needs more time
 
Completely agree re: Chadli. Looked a bit lost out there today. Was all over the pitch without enough of a contribution IMO . The 4-3-3 formation we are playing really requires two out and out wingers such as Townsend.

I thought Townsend had promise too but he seems to have accelerated his development a lot - I guess the loan last year in the prem helped that as it always seems to bring our players on. He is more confident and determined than before. I like that he doesn't hesitate just goes for it. I think AVB is good at getting the most out of this sort of player too so it's exciting.
