Gutted to see him leave. Think he'll be a solid signing for Tottenham. He's not as rapid as he was in his prime but he is still a top Left Back and was very badly used by Slot last season. Liverpool's whole defensive shape has been a mess for the last 15 months so his decline has been exaggerated. Every single defender has looked terrible in that period. He has a solid 2-3 good seasons left in him at the very top level at least because he looks after himself. Would have loved to see him extended for that period at Anfield.

But if any other Big 6 club was in our position would they be aiming to just establish themselves as a solid 7/10th place team and signing this guy on a free from a team they should be competing with?

I think we all know the answer. Why should we be any different?

Think this a good signing and just what we need, some steel, grit and leadership around the place and not the utter recklessness of a Romero.
 
I don’t get all the optimism. If he was signing for a rival we would all be pissing ourselves. Liverpool have Kerkez, who’s been awful, and the returning Tsimikas, as their current left-back options. The fact that they were happy to let Robertson go regardless say’s a lot. I hope I’m wrong but I can almost guarantee he will look utter dog shit for Scotland in the World Cup.
