Management Ange Apology Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Can I also create a harry7 apology thread?

I got some vile messages for daring to suggest Ange was 100% going to win the Europa League.

:ange-hands-head:
lol get over yourself.

He won a major trophy. He was reasonably astute tactically in Europe and prioritised it over the league.

In the league he’s been stubborn and naive and overseen our worst league performance whilst you’ve continued to suck him off, not spilling a drop.

The quality of opposition in Europa versus the league still leaves the question over his ability for me, but he’s got to stay and see if we can better it because of the win.

What is your pass mark for season 3? I'd like to know this, because it seems nothing Ange does is enough at this point.

I posted before I saw your response.

Right so at a club that hasn't won in 17 years, your pass mark is back to back trophies?
For him, yes. Anything less - especially awful league form - is now unacceptable.

What’s your pass mark then because you seem to be deriding people saying top 4 and no cups is mediocrity then mocking me suggesting another cup.

You haven’t been here long it seems. Are you just on a wind up?

'For Him' says it all, you've got an agenda against the bloke.
lol avoided the question.

He’s the one saying it’ll be better. Not me.

He’s led us to the best trophy we’ve won in 40 years. He’s also led us to our worst league finish in 50 years.

Two things can be true.

Stop trying to fucking antagonise people and say what YOU think is acceptable next year then rather than childishly pushing back against what others suggest.

Top 7 and challenging for a cup is reasonable, but setting the bar at winning a cup is unrealistic unless we make some big transfers.

Due to injuries he sacrifced league position for a trophy as that is what he believed the club needed most, and he wasn't wrong.

If the league position doesn't improve significantly then it is a given he is gone sooner rather than later.

You are winding yourself up.

I've slagged off his lack of tactical management and horrendous league form all season.

I'm eternally grateful for the EL trophy, but I ain't apologising for anything. Original concerns remain the same, although I'm slightly more open to him staying now, but that is heart over head getting the better of me.

This is my frustration, on Wednesday ange showed he can adapt tactically to get us over the line and fair play to him for that.

But where was the tactical nous during so many league games this season?

It’s due to this that I think a mutual parting is the best way forward. The only way it could work is for the club to bring in an assistant for Ange who is tactically astute?

Whatever my views on Ange, no doubt he is a great motivator.

Tough one for the club this summer

Maybe his “laser like focus’ was exactly what was needed to win a trophy. Fair enough and we should all be happy about that (I do get the impression some aren’t for some reason).

A little early to say the Spursy tag is gone though. Need to see sustained success and getting over the line more than once, to do that.

Without doubt the obsession of making the top 4 has cost us trophies over the past 15 years, and I think many of us had reached the point of being absolutely sick of it.
