I don't blame people for freaking out about a bad patch of form, but they are in fact freaking out about a bad patch of form.

None of this season's objectives have been decided yet.

That much is true......

Question is do you pull the plug in the name of preserving the chance to meet them OR do you wait to see if he fails?

If you could convince me that we are going to hire someone midseason that will win us one of the cups this year, I would be receptive to that.

That doesn't seem realistic to me though, and I'd bet a new/interim manager would likely be on a brief to nick a European place in the league versus shooting for a cup anyhow, whereas I know breaking our trophy drought is Ange's aim.

So with that being the case I see no reason not to save this conversation until May.

So we rerun after next Wednesdays game against United

I mostly agree.... But I'm not convinced upon the highlighted part.....

1. His selections have suggested otherwise.
2. When he arrived he said it wasn't about winning a trophy but building a team/culture capable of winning many.

You're right about (2). This season however he has upped the trophy this season stuff as pressure started to mount. Now it's just about arguing with fans and trying to fucking win the odd game in amongst the numerous defeats!

He's picking stronger cup teams, and has arranged the squad to better handle rotation, than Poch or Conte did. A low bar, but still.

True... But I've yet to see what I'd deem him prioritising a cup game > a league game; which to me is the ultimate litmus (at least given how I personally believe our priorities should currently weigh up).

Piss poor showings like Brighton, Palace, Ipswich, Fulham (all after EL fixtures that featured less than full strength teams) don't bode well in that respect either.

Universal football wisdom: stop playing like shit

That's objectively false.

His first season ended in a better league position than he took over and his second season isn't over yet.

People can make any argument they like but unless Ange gets sacked before the end of the season, we can't say he's proven to be a failure until we are out of all cups and mathematically can't finish above where we did last year.

Haha, nice one.

So best time of doing CPR is when patient has not been breathing for at least 30 minutes right? Cause then it is totally sure that he would need CPR. Brilliant logic.
So if we'd sit currently on 0 points and not scoring a single goal with 15 games, you would give him at least 1 more game? Cause you could MATHEMATICALLY still gather 66 points with 22 games. Which means you can get brutal losses from first 16 games. Again - brilliant and very realistic, down to earth logic here ! :D

And completely ignoring the fact that we've been going on 1,35 ppg for 43 games now. Which is more than full season.

P.S forgot to add - Ange OUT. Clearly out. We've been steaming pile of liquid shit for 43 (!) games in a row. And it keeps getting worse as we go.

Are you alright?

Having calmed down since Sunday, my main concern with a mid-season sacking is what kind of calibre of manager we can attract now as opposed to waiting to the end of the season and seeing how things play out.

We are already 7 points off top 4 and Liverpool round the corner but yeah, let's wait until we're mathematically out of the top four race and knocked out the cups, THEN we can freak out..

I'm leaning towards out but still undecided. It will depend on whether we beat Rangers and United.

My main issue is his tactical approach and in-game management. All-out attack at maximum intensity is not sustainable, not for 90 minutes or across a long season of matches. It has to be more considered than that, sometimes you have to adjust to the opponent, to the game state, etc. I believe Ange has two clean sheets at home in PL matches as well. That is abominable.

How many times have we scored first in a game under Ange and failed to win? Far too many times. That for me is the biggest red flag of all. Scoring first puts control of the game in your hands but Ange doesn't use that advantage sensibly. I'm not saying he has to play the most cynical Mourinho/Conte ball but you have to know how to manage a game. Nothing will ever be more important than winning the game, no matter what Ange says.
