No point in getting rid of him at this stage.
No guarantee anyone else would do better - and we would have a limited choice.
Better to assess at the end of the season.
Disagree.

We've won 1 of our last 9 league games, and we don't look like we are hard done by in any of the games we haven't won. We are going nowhere under the current manager. He has to go. The worst thing is that I have no faith what happens after him is good for the club.

Why wait ?
Levy sacked Jose 5 days before a final

What shows you This Manager will win us a game at Liverpool & wembley
In hindsight that was a bad mistake by Levy. Mourinho obviously wasn't going to be here long term but he should of at least had the opportunity to manage in the cup final.

With Ange right now, given the current injury list, appointing an interim (temporary) manager to see out the season isn't going to salvage the season in the league.

The board need to get the next manager right. Leave Ange in place while the due dilligence is done in the background on a potential replacement. Unless you can get a top class manager that has a break clause that can join straight away.

The season right now is all about the cup competitions. I rather leave Ange in than have Ryan Mason navigate the rest of the cup games.

I really wanted to see things work with Ange, I think his mentality and philosophy is what we need to solve our weak underbelly. However I do think his unwillingness to adapt tactically is making his position untenable now. But....realistically who in their right mind would come to us. We're a team in need of serious investment, which isn't going to happen under the current ownership. There's also strong talk of a takeover which would potentially put a new managers position under threat.
Until this takeover talk is resolved I don't think we'll see any movement tbh.

No top 6 team has beaten Woolwich at the Emirates in 2 years.

But sure, fire Ange.

However I do think his unwillingness to adapt tactically is making his position untenable now.

He adapted yesterday. In the first half we didn't press them aggressively, we stood off and let them have the ball. We invited pressure and were rewarded with the first goal. We also played a number of long balls out of the back. For all their pressure, they barely created anything in the first half.

Trossard put them in front due to; once again, our defensive midfield not doing their job. Bissouma lost possession in a stupid area where he had an easy pass on to Sarr. Sarr then made a very poor effort to get across and close down Trossard, this dragged Dragusin across who made a half arsed attempt to stop the shot.

We desperately need a proper defensive midfielder who can read the game.

You don't give up on a system that works because the players are crap. You recruit the players who can play the system.

GIVE ANGE a striker who can hold the ball up. A proper defensive midfielder, and a lead center back who doesn't spend most of his time on the bench resting for his international fixtures.

This man gets it! You can see he is adapting and trying different things to counter the opposition and make use with what we have!

For how much Woolwich have spent and how lauded their manager is, there really wasn’t much in it!

Think the system is clearly missing a strong defensive midfielder who doesn’t lapse in concentration and has the ability to change the tempo of the game. I really really want to see a few games later in the season where we have Cuti and VdV back, with grey in front of them, with kulu bergvall in front of him! That should give lots of bite and hold up ability which we are sorely lacking!

Also, who the hell cares about league position unless you have a big chance of winning the thing of getting CL football. Otherwise the only one who benefits is levy

I am Ange out. Not now. But at the end of the season.

We need a coach who is a teacher. Someone with Ange’s personality but a better ability to coach players to become better. Like Poch.

Ange has been unlucky with injuries to some extent (even if he should take some responsibility for that). There aren’t many managers who could get a good run out of a squad with 4 of their back 5 out.

We also play an attacking style which should be a non-negotiable. Never again go for a Conte, Mourinho or Nuno.

It’s with regret that I say this but he has to go. Let’s start planning now. Iraola?

I never liked the hire or the hype, but Spurs are on a walk into a deep wood. You get to a certain point and have to push forward to the other side because turning back wastes what you've done to that point. Realistically, there is nothing to be salvaged from this season. Even if a trophy was won it would not obscure that Postecoglou's system is suspect. At the end of the season the conversation between him and the team needs to be about whether he is willing and able to make adjustments within the context of his system and accept changes to his coaching staff.
We have a minimum of 21 games left this season, and likely more depending on progress in cups.

He's been in place for a year and a half and you are still talking about making assessments on whether he is willing to make adjustments and accept changes, despite the sheer mountain of evidence reflecting otherwise (bar a few games and good wins against top 6, which I'll give him credit for). One win in the last 9 league games - ONE WIN.

What have we done to this point? What is it that I'm clearly not seeing that suggests he deserves to keep managing this football club for another ~25 football games?

IMO he's been saved by the injuries.

There are heaps of negatives about Ange and about this season of disappointment. Injuries have definitely played a huge part in our position on the table.

But for all the bad things happened so far I keep seeing that we have the 2nd best attack in the league, with all our injuries and some of our poor performances still the 2nd best attack and the 5th best goal differential. That tells me we are doing something right and that our position on the ladder is not a long term position.

So I'm happy to keep Ange until the end of the season and then let the chips fall where they may.

* The Injuries
* The position in the cups
* The imminent return of injured players
I'll eat my hat if we see some miraculous uptake in performance with the return of injured players.

Defence is arguably the most impacted area, Dragusin while clearly not being the most suited CB for our system has done ok, it's not like he's had to fall back on Lenglet. While Gray clearly doesn't have the same speed as VDV he's done extremely well considering his age, and being played out of position, there's not been one game where he's been the reason we lost. Spence has arguably offered more than Udogie had in the last few months.
The way we play, and our formation puts defenders at such a disadvantage we're going to concede goals regardless of their quality. Based on Romeros form at the start of the season I also don't see his passing as the missing puzzle piece to making this whole thing work.

The midfield will continue to be the same as it's been since the start of the season.

Forwards, I guess we can hope that Moore goes through a similar rapid transition period that Bergval went through, but at the end of the day he's still a kid, he'll need time and will make mistakes. Richarlison is arguably the one that could make the most meaningful impact, but let's just see if he can stay fit for the rest of the season. I had a good feeling about Odobert, but dont think we'll see him back any time soon.

Yes we've had injuries, and even without injuries we've clearly got massive gaps across the entire pitch, but Ange does carry a fair bit of the blame here.

No point cutting now.

Leave him in place until seasons end, then cut based on final position on the table and performance in cups.

Top 6 finish and a cup leaves Ange in place I think.
Top 6? We're 10 pts behind Bournemouth in 8th. We're not catching that up. Utd will finish above us. Best we can hope for now is 10th and the chances of that if we keep this chancer in charge are slim.

Out for me. I wanted Ange to succeed but the results speak for themselves. As the season has progressed the expectations have continually shifted downward. Have to cut losses at some point.

In the beginning many were telling the critics not to worry, that we are only 1 point away from top 4, then top 6 then top 10, now it's forget about the season we are still playing for 3 cups. What's next? We'll, based on results we are headed for a relegation battle and this team and manager are not giving me confidence that they have the mentality or ability to fight for every point. The legoman had more passion in the moments after yesterday's match than I've seen from Ange over his entire time with us.

I really hope I'm wrong here and that we get securely back into the top 10 and get into a cup final or two.

Really wanted it to work. Loved his ideas at first but when i realised there was only the 1 way and tactically hes at a loss i think its time to go. However if the answer is Mason well he prob should stay.
A poor coaching ticket hasnt helped and thats on Ange too.he has been backed more than any manager in the league since arriving.
Results have never been as bad.
Inept against deep lying teams.
Only thing saving him is a good league cup run. A loss to the dippers and hes toast.

Expectations have been lowered that where we are is now acceptable to people here as long as theres a good cup run. Level with palace 4 places above the drop zone

Lies lies and dammed statistics they say.
We have lost 11 league games.
Ten of them by one goal. There is maybe an argument somewhere that we are not as bad as the table suggests.
Injuries etc.
But we have no hope of turning things around with feeble players such as Johnson, Maddison and brain dead players like Dragusain and biss.
The fact ange plays to our weaknesses and won’t change will ultimately get him sacked.
