I'm genuinely not interested in the women's team. No slight on them but I can barely maintain an interest in the International game. So can anyone who has climbed aboard Dainels other revenue stream tell me if the persons in charge of the women's team capable of coaching the mens side till seasons end? Or is Mason the only in house alternative?

I agree.

My daughter played girls football and I would only ever say positive things about the sport at amateur level. It was great watching her play team sport, the way I had and her brothers did. Her daughter, my granddaughter now plays too.

However; I do find the promotion of the womens professional game and the artificial elevation of the best professional women players, regarding the punditry on TV, to be inappropriate.

I'm not against women being pundits but I am against the conflation of womens football with the mens' game.

Women's football, at the highest level, is of an amateur standard.

It just is.

This might not always be the case going forward but this imaginary world that is being constructed at the moment is doomed to fail.

It does not deserve the equal footing it is being placed on.

You said it, 100% don't count
That Elfsberg team hadn't played football for about a month and the Liverpool result meant FA as the second leg was a total bitch slapping. This kind of crazy take will keep this fraud here next season. If that happens I'm done.
It is attitudes like that causing our failure to win any trophies. Our failure to win matches against inferior opposition the year we were in the Conference whilst fielding weakened teams stopped us winning a winnable competition. Winning those 2 matches were important and had we lost to Elfsberg we would have played an away match yesterday reducing our chances of winning on Sunday.
The Liverpool result could have resulted in us reaching a Wembley final. Win Sunday and we go up 1 position in the PL! Hardly important.
I cannot see Ange turning it around to stop him going in the summer but he is a better bet than Mason and any other unemployed Manager. Those employed will more likely be tempted in the summer.

Yeah you lost me with the better than Mason.

Absolutely..Everything that's worthwhile takes time is kind of why ive not got 40 years to give the womens team founded 1985. It's not something can be artificial felt and I wont fake it. But does this mean you follow it ? If so can you answer my question?
Six years ago the women had never won a game against a team in the top division. 5 years ago they got promoted to the Super League. Last year they got to the Cup Final, they are now maybe the "best of the rest" behind the 4 teams that dominate women's football. What they have done over the last 6 years shows they are making really fast progress. Personally I wish the club would invest a bit more to get them the 2 or 3 players that would allow them to get closer to that top 4. The money would be peanuts ... Keira Walsh cost Chelsea £500k and that is apparently in the top 5 most expensive transfers all time in women's football.

None of that means that the coaching staff should take over the men's team. It's a daft idea to be honest. The women train and play differently because of the difference in physical capability so there is no reason to think the coaching staff would move seamlessly to the men's game. Doesn't make them bad coaches or the women bad players, men's and women's football is just different. The coach of the women's team has a good CV but he has coached 1 season of men's football in his life.

Apparently Ossie has some sort of ongoing employment arrangement with the club ( ambassador/ ex-player VIP host duties etc ) . So , given a few allowances for the exact terms of his contract; he’s here , available and
“ in - house “ .

Plus ; he’d tighten up our defence.

So it may not be a simple case of “Mason or some random outsider” .

Hope this helps .

PS : not to mention Milesey; EPL unproven I grant you ; but he knows the Club , watches all our game; probably got a shed-load of insights. The walking definition of
untapped in-house talent ( given our current circumstances) .

We could do a lot worse.TBF .

I couldn't really give a fuck about the women's game, show me the odd great goal and the odd random bit of female violence and I'm more entertained than almost every single women's match I've ever seen (and I've seen more than a few).

I've coached girls before and reffed some small sided matches a long time ago...the levels compared to boys go askew massively when the natural hormones kick in at puberty. Best girl I ever saw played as a right back in a great youth side made up entirely of boys, she played at youth International level etc.

Not especially a fan of female commentary or punditry either in the men's game tbh. Still waiting for the day when you can just turn off all the wankers' audio and just have crowd noise like I seemed to be able to do for a few games on Amazon Prime before.

Society is such a fucking mess these days. Incredible amounts of energy and resources being put into certain areas while other seemingly much more vital concerns are totally, possibly purposefully, neglected.

I'm glad for the women's game and female sports in general, but I'm not interested to follow it. I believe in free market choices in these matters, and too am irked by the constant badgering over these issues. If it were my choice I'd rather not listen to any pundits, much less have some kind of political agenda forced on me while I escape via sports!

Women's football isn't a revenue stream, it generally makes a loss and has to be subsidised by the men's team. I assume ours is the same.

Out..
can't coach for 2 seasons
* mounting injuries started last season - not this season
* no/poor shape- 6/7/8 players crowded together in plenty of matches since last year
* romero in the strikers/penalty area all the time

[case in point 2-3 at Brighton 6 players marking/stopping one winger Rutte & FAILed..
2 guys at Welbeck & FAILed]

ange out. No coaching. No match reviews or lessons learnt.
Ange: I want Ange Ball & i give you permission to express yourselves
(which is why you have chaos football -without rhyme/reasons. Romero in the penalty box.. & VDV scrambling trying to cover someone else's duty ))

Trash system.

Only crowd noise should be a red button option on every service in my opinion.

From Football London. I cannot see why rival fans would find this at end of a report on Ange's press conference.

Will Postecoglou win a trophy this season?

Yes 35%
No 65%

Have the performances against Liverpool and Villa changed your view of Postecoglou?

No, he should stay 78%
No, I wanted him out regardless 9
Yes, I now think he needs to go 13%

Do you think Postecoglou will still be Spurs manager in 12 months' time?

Yes 60%
No 40%
Everything I'm reading conforms with that, most people want Postecoglou to stay. It brings up the obvious question of why they feel that way. Some of it is that they are so angry with Levy they can't accept that anyone but Levy is responsible for the results this season. Then there are people (excepting the Ange in people here) who may be casual fans who can't see the weaknesses in the system. And some just like the guy. Because he still has at least 60% support, I don't think he'll be fired until he's had enough time next season to produce another failed season. For now the excuses, the cult of personality, and the opposition to Levy are like bubble wrap around him.

It’s terrifying that he could be given next season. Honestly though it wouldn’t surprise me. We have morons running the club. The penny probably won’t drop until we start next season under him just like we are now and are in a similar position in the table in October time. Then we will have yet another wasted season. It’s what makes supporting this club feel so futile and almost pointless at this stage.
