Maybe it’s just me ; previously I’d have completely agreed with you . But after five decades plus I’ve finally realised there’s simply no point in being logical anymore . Thursday night was the final , liberating experience.

Supporting this club isn’t “ a curse “ ; which I overreacted about btw ; it’s actually a Psychedelic experience.

Reason and logic are meaningless concepts . Embrace it !
I think your reading too much in to it. We have had a ridiculously easy run to the semis and faced a Frankfurt shoren of its best player in Marmoush , I think it would be crazy to read too much in the Europa League results

My biggest issue with Ange and the reason I wanted him sacked last week was because I didn't think he was capable of managing us to go there and grind out an ugly away win. He adapted his tactics and got the team selection and subs right. He surprised me.

Does that mean I want him here next season? No, not yet anyway. But he showed he can adapt away in Europe and we can get big results under him. This game also showed that the whole team are visibly behind Ange. So for now I'm happy to keep him so long as we are in Europe.

If we win the final under him then I'm guessing my irrational emotion will cloud my cynical judgement, and I'll find myself Ange In again. But hey thats not the worst scenario now is it!!

A cup win would be amazing, but the real metric of progress is league position.

We absolutely cannot get all dewy eyed about Ange staying on should we win the Europa.

He’d be gone by November and we’ll be scrabbling round for a successor mid-season which always goes really well, especially for us!

Man- back in the day on here, people used to talk about how cool it was we were fighting for the league again, and were more than just a 'cup team'. I miss those days. I think basically any of our managers going to back to at least Redknapp and probably even before that would have had this team here in this comp.

Meanwhile, back in the league, we're about to be overtaken by Aston Villa and Newcastle for the next 10 years, and maybe Forest too.

I would really like to see better league results just feel some faith that we aren't going to be absolute garbage again next season. Other teams in the prem are very good- much better than these very poor european teams we've been playing recently.

We will probably go back to playing Angeball on Monday and get a good hiding.

If not back to Angeball, he's apparently changed his professed tactical approach, and is now cautiously moving into a new tactical phase of his career. I honestly wonder if he can succeed enough with a conventional approach versus other managers who aren't so late in arriving to this approach? Maybe he can, but good lord is this not the absolute most painful wait while he figures shit out.

Honestly mate I have now nearly 2years worth of data. I think if anyone is fooled by these few games they are getting played.

I agree I just don't want to discount the possibility that Ange is still developing and changing his approach, even if very slowly. He really has never coached at this level of the game before and it seems reasonable to assume hes not too stupid to learn and adapt.

I think for most of us we just expect the same cycle for the next manager anyway. I know Ange sets a low bar so nearly any other prem manager would be an improvement but none of the names we are linked with really excite me. Part of me still hopes Ange can turn it around rather than starting a new cycle. That is hope not expectation. Thursday night made me think he still has a chance

Yes....it is...

I know what you’re saying; but .

I’ve stopped reading anything into anything anymore ( I’ve given up ) ; we can win away at Man City yet struggle to get past Tamworth etc etc .

My point was / is that I’ve stopped trying to make sense of things . It’s working for me , for now at least.

I don't even believe this runt set up the tactics.Even if some snake puts up a clip of him delivering the plan I would do a Trump.
If we have lost so many games why hasn't he changed before.
I can't bear to look at him now I encountered the Australian Greeks in Sydney and to me he fits right in with what I saw. Add ELtitle to your underwhelming CV and feck off and take your cult with you and of course "football man" Munn
