Trying to be positive, I think we’ve improved off the ball. And I think Solanke looks like a really good addition.

But we’ve got worse at the back. Still not sure who are best six is, and I remain unconvinced by our wingers.

I think we’ll end up in seventh. A lot of smaller sides struggle as the season and injuries add up, so we’ll pick up some wins.

He needs to win two of the next three though. If we shit the bed against Spam and Villa, Levy will start looking.

How have we got worse at the back?

Also where are these comments from, is there a Mourinho thread somewhere?

Would love it if you could name and shame some of them but I can see why you haven't haha

There’s a Mourinho thread in the general football forum.

Some of the old match day threads were full of Mourinho nutters/disciples calling him a genius and the son of god. Some gold in those.
There were plenty of converted Spurs believers on here too.

In fairness we had all been locked into our houses and were probably mental.

Going from Ange to Tuchel would be hilarious. Complete opposite issues. Tuchel is miles ahead as a tactician and miles more adaptable but really bad at building a harmonious dressing room and getting on with the board. Areas Ange has excelled in to be fair to him.

We would have a decent chance at a cup under Tuchel though. We’d probably go back to a five back.
Having seen what Tuchel did to that Bayern squad last year I don't particularly want his terrorist-ball here. That said, he'd probably win us a cup. One of the best tacticians in the game.

We haven't; we're still just as crap as we were last season.

Well, we're actually better.

In fact, we're better in almost every conceivable way across most metrics to last season and have nearly rectified every negative thing most had on Ange and his system last season.

High line causing us to concede on the counter? Improved on it.

Set pieces? Improved on it.

After Brighton, quite obviously need to improve on the mentality after leading in games and most definitely need players to cut out their stupid mistakes.

Results aside, this isn't a bad start 14 months into a huge rebuild though regardless of whether or not we had a poor 45 against Brighton. Though I also am aware it's fun to be a little reactionary after any loss and points on the board are what ultimately matter.

As most statisticians will tell you though, these things sort themselves out over the course of a season (Chelsea proved that last year) - 100% record in the cups whilst using the squad and blooding through youngsters, 3rd best xGA in the league, second best xG, 3rd in the league for xPTS.

Unless our performances SERIOUSLY dip, we are more likely to go on another run of 5 wins on the bounce and shoot straight up the league. And hell, If they improve? Then we're in for something pretty damn good.

But I'm also aware a select few on here absolutely refuse to back the manager so I really can't be arsed to argue the stats anymore and will instead just let it play out and see where we are come the end of the season. It's tiring and quite frankly exhausting listening to bullshit narratives and lazy discussion constantly by the same folk

It's actually wild how much people are allowing 45 minutes to change the narrative of our season. After the first half and the last 5 games we were really on a good track, working out our kinks, it was starting to click, etc. Now after a bad 45 mins on the road against a good team, the doomsday folks are out. It's a long season. There will be ups and downs.

The narrative is usually false. The truth usually doesn't follow a clean story and for whatever reason people can't manage that. We're generally looking better. We still have some issues. We still probably have some mentality problems. But overall the trajectory is still good. People forget how much of a total stylistic change we have undergone since Conte. That takes time. We need to continue to inject strong personalities in the squad which I think Ange realizes.

I want to agree with you. I do, mostly when it comes to Levy/ Enic. But you are wrong, there are self confessed: fans of Sonny, Ange, Romero, Jose EXCLUSIVELY and some have been frankly mad, they would burn white Hart Lane to the ground and drive said love of their life to there new job at Highbury. I take your point though it's mostly childish.
Yeah couple of people have said this and tbh I'm inclined to agree.

I don't see that post as racist. I think he's absolutely right. They follow Ange/ Son and will not follow the team without them. Why is that racist? It doesn't put these people down...
Unlike DaveyBoyHH and other Englishmen, Johnny Foreigner is a fickle gent without loyalty who switches allegiances constantly.
Do you actually know any Korean or Aussie fans?

Yeah and in Klopps 3rd season he was like 9th after 9 games with 13 points having just got thumped 4-1 by the mighty Spurs.
This was said after we beat them that day, oh how times have changed 😂

This is the result of a stubborn manager. Simple as that.

A team of Liverpool’s size can’t have an ENTIRE defense playing that poorly, just can’t. Liverpool could have a proper defense, but Klopp is too stubborn to see how much of a Championship level our defense is.

Look how organized Tottenham's defence was. Like clockwork. It's not only the ability of our defenders, Klopp is doing something massively wrong himself.

There is absolutely no substance in your post.
None of you Clappers will ever convince me that Levy is anything but useless as a football CEO or his manager is a 59 year old who has won the golden ticket.
The table never lies.

Thank you Cranston Cranston you have saved me a job. What you have written is exactly what I feel. And it just makes me sad, because the evasive weird bloke we see in interviews is not who I met. The one I met looked you in the eye shook hands, big smile, engaged with all the kids lots of patience and emotional intelligence. I SO WANT HIM TO SUCCEED. But you have cogently outlined why I too am doubtful of anything more than 7th. I just don't see where some people here are finding the source of their belief.

I know right, we win 5 games on the bounce, play some brilliant football against Man Utd and beat them 3-0 away from home, play some lovely football in the first half against Brighton away but have a shocking 2nd half which is mainly on the players and all of a sudden it's doom and gloom with the same old posters on here.

It's the comments like 'weak Man Utd side' that crack me up, any old excuse to be miserable about your own club you support.

We've gone from "it's just one game" to "it's just 45 minutes" what's next? "it's just 3 goals".

It's our worst start to a league campaign for 16 years.

Just use this next time..
