Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It’s pointless keeping Ange to be fair mate, at least that’s my opinion.

I don’t even believe Mason will give us a shot in the arm. I just don’t believe Ange deserves to be the manager at this point and keeping him here is just delaying the inevitable imo.

If we remove him now and put Mason in charge while we look for a replacement I don’t see any real downside to it, worst case scenario things just stay the same as they are and we have more time to look for a replacement without having to consider Ange and his ego whilst doing so.

Agree to disagree, we're just going round in circles, CBA to debate anymore 😆

I'm an Ange fan and since I am obviously biased I almost never comment.
I'll make an exception though just to point something that should be clear but obviously isn't. He said several times that his aim is to build a team and a system where everybody knows exactly what to do in any given circumstances. Thus changing the system for any specific game unless it is live or die is a step back.
If you bare this in mind you will understand every move he does
Now, whether this system works or not remains to be seen when we will have a full squad..
In the PL every game is live or die, if you want to succeed. It's naive and stubborn to never change your tactics. The result is the worst league form for over 15 years.

It won’t. It’s a shit system

Ange's win % :

South Melbourne 53.13
Australia U20 67.65
Panachaiki 48.48
Whittlesea Zebras 12.50
Brisbane Roar 50.00
Melbourne Victory 46.88
Australia 44.90
Yokohama F. Marinos 49.07
Celtic 73.45
Tottenham 50.00

Of course he picked up trophies along the way but I was shocked to discover yesterday that we are doing exactly as you'd expect on a win %. Just the same as the legendary stints at Brisbane Roar and Yokohama that grew here to the rank of myths.
And by the way let's not get fooled with 'he took at team that finished 8th and made them champions'- I watched enough Polish league to know in the sub par level you can create a championship winning team in one transfer window. It just happens all the time.
Look at the fucking state of all his teams before us.

We could dip into non league and get someone better.

Yes, its used widely, but not is such extreme way like Ange uses it.

I dont see both TAA and Robertson running at once as 10. Its usually one of them (typically Trent) sitting deep and making a cross (see Diaz goal), while the other bombing penalty box. Ofc during build-up he acts like 6 and join central midfielders, but he is not doing AM job.

Its not that inverting FB is bad thing and traditional FB is good thing. Its about finding balance. Sometimes invert, sometimes not. Control what other fullback from your team is doing. Sometimes overlap sometimes underlap.

We just do only one way, we expect our fullbacks to do the attacking midfielders job, we don't provide enough cover for our central defenders.

Mainky vecause Roberton doesn't have the technical ability to invert. He will still get forward on the outside at the same time, just that MacAllister will rotate in to cover him.

We get worse with every passing week

I don't care what he wants to do. He isn't capable of doing it and it's hurting us.

We've been fucking wank in this game and a win does nothing but prolonged the inevitable.

The overlap wasn't really on, nor was the underlap.

Of course I want our fullbacks to get forward.

Forest were sitting there with two banks of 4.....and we started doing all this running around in front of them creating absolute chaos.......for ourselves.

One pass later they scored.

His system is shit as a whole. even our press.. while it's full throttle because we have some excellent athletes, Solanke,Sarr Kulu etc....i don't even know what triggers us to do it.

It's just like "opposition got the ball go and get it, run".
It's all without structure. We leave gaps everywhere.

I was backing Ange last season but now I see it clearly and Galatasaray game done it for me. He set them up to get slaughtered and proved he had no idea what to do at at this level.
Still not the question i asked mate.
