THESE are the facts

6th is not good.

Our points tally at that point was not impressive.

We already had numerous bad losses and a hard fixture list coming up which I do not believe we would have been successful in regardless of injuries.

You can pretend we were doing well, we weren't. Nobody on here thought we were other than the pathetic little apologist brigade who are still doing their machiavellian work on here daily in order to obfuscate and protect the board and the manager, because being professional contrarians is their life.

Now, champ, how about we extend the points argument to the end of last season as well, hmm? When we had our players back but lost the majority of the games at the end of the season? Yes I think I'll do that. Over that extended period, where would we be in a table I wonder?

We'd been in inconsistent, collapsing form under Impostercoglu for a very, very long time prior to injuries.

Last season, points-wise, we finished 5th. The ONLY THING THAT MATTERS.

Why are you talking about anything other than points, points, points.

End of may last season:

Played 5, won 2, lost 3. The two wins vs relegated sides.

End of April last season:

Played 4, lost 2, won 1, drew 1.

Then continued that in to this season with a highly inconsistent start which had us on a patchy points tally headed in to a tough run - only a deluded fool would think that injuries or not we suddenly push on from there.

Our run of results/points tally has been terrible for ages, starting from the last couple of months from last season where we couldn't buy consistent wins, going in to the start of this season. Then as soon as things get a little tough injuries/fitness wise, we fall apart completely.

Bad management - no matter what doo-doo says.

But how many points did we get?

To quote a certain someone who shall remain nameless

"the only thing that ever matters in football - POINTS."

5th is fucking failure without cup runs or European distractions anyway. Used to be for this football club anyway. It became a success the second crocodile dundee turned up and apparently then losing out on fourth to a collapsing Villa side when you have one match a week and they don't was some kind of achievement.

How was our points tally at the end of last season? When was the last time for an extended period our PPG was remotely good?

Sat in 12th place threatened with being 15th and the fucking Levybots are busy trolling the managers thread trying to mock the idea that points matter, all so they can earn an extra fiver in the paypacket from the boss this month.

LOL, you ask a question, I gave you points. You no likey the points so you get mad.

Cheer up mate.

No points even available tomorrow!!

Don't worry, just another shit result incoming before we lose the NLD as well. Which is exactly what you deserve, but at least it'll be another result closer to the fraud being out.

We finished 5th last season, our points tally overall was mediocre, that's why we finished in a mediocre position.

12th place currently of course with a disgraceful points tally. And no amount of crybaby excuses about injuries from Ange's pathetic little fanclub will change that reality.

I mean, only one person sounds like a crybaby right now, and it is not me.

Fuck me, I don't even want to win games anymore for points or for trophies. This place is so much more peaceful and friendly without the angry folk.

If anything that period of form was more important to finishing 5th than the first 10 games.

2ppg pretty much matches Poch's best seasons btw. And we beat all the types of teams that people are frustrated by us not beating in this half of the season.

It's never as straight forward, black and white as the narrative paints. Football is 11 humans against 11 other humans, there's way too many variables to even bother trying to rationalize it into the simple narratives that people seem to need to feel comfortable under. The reality is that it's the most complicated, simple game in the world and that's why it's the beautiful game.

And then we got beat by any half decent team to close out the last couple of months of the season...

5th is bang on average for the Levy model for the last however many years. Not failure, not success. But with the context of finishing 8th the season before then losing our best striker in the PL era, our best GK in the PL era and both captains of the club, it was much more to the side of success as a first season than failure.

*Maybe* don't constantly wind people up by being a contrarian and playing devils advocate when people are understandably very frustrated at an absolutely minging season, and then they will be friendlier... there is nothing to be positive or happy about with the season so far and nobody needs a guy in the corner going "WELL AKCHUALLY" in the Levy and Ange threads every week when we lose.

Like having a haemorrhoid.

I don't know what half decent means tbh but what I really get from it is that any team we beat, at any point of any season under Ange, they weren't half decent.

But that's not the point I was making. All I was saying is that the first 10 games wasn't the only period of good form last season.

We finished 8th the season before because Levy fucked our season by hiring first an assistant manager and then Ryan Mason, we were fourth under the competent coach. Ange spent hundreds of millions on players in the summer & january, got Porro for a full season and Udogie as well as the players he bought. So that immediately counteracts the Kane loss. Our best GK in the PL era? Come on. Lloris was a handicap by the end, I'm not Vicario's biggest fan on here but he's a much better goalkeeper in 2024 than Hugo was.

VDV, Maddison, Udogie, Vicario, Dragusin, Johnson, Werner, Solomon. Ange got backed more than anyone has been before last year.

More to the side of success than failure? Meh. We had one match a week. We went out of the league and FA cup extremely quickly and ended up a full 6 points ahead of Ten Haags United, a Ten Haag who spent an entire season on the verge of the sack and won the FA cup in the end.
