I said in December that one of the reasons we possibly hadn't sacked Ange is because we would have wanted a manager in place to convince new signings to come over the January window. It would be impossible to do that with a rudderless club and Mason or Wells as interim.

It didn't happen with Muani, it worked with Tel. Thing is, we don't know how many players we lost out on signing in Jan because of Ange and his precarious position.

Let's be honest it very nearly didn't come off with Tel also.

A win over Brentford changes nothing in terms of his future. I still think he's an actual fraud and totally out of his depth. He might be good at chatting a lot of shit, in fact we know he is, it's probably why he hasn't been fired yet. We all know he talks the talk. But we also know he isn't walking the walk, at least in the league anyway.

I know we've been saying it for ages, but his future really hinges on the next couple of weeks.

A win tonight, a result against Villa, and some wins in the league, momentum, great, but I'd still make a change in the summer or even before if we keep losing. But he's miles away from turning it around and to be the man we invest out future into and to stay next season. The only way that happens, is if he wins a cup and he finishes the season with a 2+ ppg record. He needs to absolutely smash the fuck out of the next 4 months in terms of results, tactics and performances. Let's be honest, does anyone really see that happening?

If he just improves results slightly but it is still trundling along with a WLWLWLWL type of form until the end of the season, then he can fuck off as soon as the last ball is kicked in May.

As it stands, I look at our squad and it is so promising. I would move all out for Iraola in May. As I have seen enough to know that Ange just isn't up to it at all.

Let's break this down shall we.

Yes, sacking Ange to put Mason or Wells in charge would be far worse than Ange coaching, a rudderless club as you say, so I guess he's doing something right, and better than other current options you've mentioned.

We did sign Tel, Ange played a part in that, so your point about it nearly not happening is.... pointless.

Ange is a fraud ey... which one of his many trophies, or wins over Man City, Liverpool, Man U, or top 4 finish in the Europa league group stage this season would indicate he's a fraud?
And yes, he is contractually required to talk to the media, often, as part of his job. It seems you're correct, part of the reason he hasn't been fired is because he shows up for those contractually required press conferences, great insight I'll give you that one.

Iraolo has a PPG of 1.49, so he doesn't meet your requirements either, though he has won the Cypriot Super Cup...
Spurs have beaten Iraolo's Bournemouth twice since Ange has been manager, loosing once. 5 goals for, 2 against.

Sounds like you've really landed on your messiah there... goodluck with that rotating door you're dreaming of.

Next time you try and break down someone's post on here, try not to talk pure waffle.

Oh wow, so Wells and Mason are a worse option than Ange? Well what a point you've made. Let's go all in on Ange then, he's amazing. What a vote of confidence. So no, that doesn't mean Ange is doing something right. it merely says we wanted to portray stability during the window to try and sign players.

Yes we did sign Tell, my point isn't pointless. Muani turned us down for one. Who knows how many players turned us down in January because of the utter horrendous PL season we've had under Ange. We all said it in January, who wants to join this shit show....I'm quite astonished we managed to sign Tel considering where we are in the league. But I am not going to praise Ange for doing part of his job and talking to players, I want him to win football matches, and lots of them.

Yes Ange is a fraud. Wow we've finished top 4 in the Europa League, beat United? are you taking the piss? United are fucking shit and they are currently sat above us in the league and in Europe so far. What a job Ange is doing wow!!!

City have been pumped by loads of teams this season. Liverpool we scraped past 1 nil in the first leg, do I need to remind you they battered us 6-3 at home weeks ago? Ange has won in Scotland and Japan, big wow. Honestly mate, what are you on? It's embarrassing you trying to defend Ange with shite like that.

We had 1 win in 14 PL games and sat 16th last week. Yes he's a fucking fraud. we've been on our worst sustained league results in decades. 1 win against Brentford changes nothing. At is stands he 100% should be sacked, it's a miracle he's still here. If we get battered tonight I hope he's gone tomorrow and we put Wells in charge.

Iraola is objectively doing a much better job than Ange is. That you resort to using ppg to try and paint Iraola is being nothing special shows your lack of knowledge about the game. What he is doing with that Bournemouth squad is brilliant. Puts Ange to shame.

Yes but consistently successful sides don’t score one goal after 15 minutes and then go “durrrrrrrrr, lets low block defend for 75 minutes to preserve our lead durrrrrrrrr”. They might do in the final 10 minutes of a really really important game but 99% of the time they will stick to basic structure, formation and principles the coach sets out. Do you think City, Woolwich and Liverpool sit around a table and think “oh my god we’re playing Leicester on the weekend, let’s try to grab an early goal and then transition to defensive formation to counter the threat of Vardy”?

This idea that low block is this sophisticated tactical weapon deployed by the smartest most enlightened managers is fuckin daft. It’s most frequently used by teams in the bottom half struggling to score goals, so when they get one then they have no belief they can score another so they go into a defensive shell and try to hang on. Sometimes it works, but most of the time its shit teams in the bottom half who are the biggest proponents of it.

That it worked against Tottenham multiple times doesn’t mean it’s a good strategy, it means Tottenham don’t have good enough players or attacking tactics to break down tight defensive set ups. That may be on Ange as well. But given Spurs when full strength squad have had no problems scoring goals, I’m inclined to think injuries and lack of depth is the bigger issue. Players like Werner and Jonson are just so poor with the ball at their feet and can’t function in tight spaces. Bissouma, Bentacur and Sarr are also just really average and can’t compete with the star studded midfields of the best teams. Spurs need major investment in these areas if they are to take their own top 4, trophy hunting aspirations seriously.

At the end of the day it may just be that the players don’t fit Ange’s system and the players that do fit Ange’s system are the kinds of players that don’t want to play for Spurs or Spurs can’t afford. In that case, it may be better for Spurs to ditch Ange and bring someone who is more tactically versatile and plays according to the players strengths and makes adjustments as circumstances dictate . But while it may get Spurs into a slightly better position in the table, it will absolutely not get them closer to winning trophies on the regular.
Two areas that haven't clicked are buildup and threat in the final third. The system has produced possession but it has yet to produce consistent advantage. You can put that back on the players, but if you shuffle the deck will Spurs be dealt markedly better players than what they have now? I feel bad for our players. They lose and it's put across that they aren't good enough for the system. They win and it's all due to Postecoglou. Spurs have a really nice group of players and there are a lot of managers who could make something out of them as a group.

What is a ‘fraud’ in this context, genuine question?

It seems to be equated with being good enough or not.

Personally I don’t think Ange is a top level premier league manager, but I don’t understand the correlation to being a fraud - he’s won things, I may not think think the things he’s won are in any way an indicator of a top level manager, but he’s won them. So it isn’t like he’s pretending to be a football manager, even his P45 says he is.

Personally, I’d rather we went in a different direction with a manager who gave me hope that actually they have a wider tactical vision, but I don’t understand how the term ‘fraud’ is used here?

Not a dig at anyone, genuine question.

You're a fraud, not a fan, go back to Woolwich and stop lurking around here. A wins not good enough for you unless we break a 20 game winning streak? You're either another miserable sod, or a gooner in disguise.

You brought PPG benchmarks into your keyboard ramble, then pointed out how it demonstrates a lack of knowledge about the game. You seem to be confused contradiction.

If you actually are a Spurs supporter (highly unlikely), I'm sure you've called for every manager Spurs has had to be sacked, I would put money on it. Again, goodluck with that approach, seems to be working so far...

Oh look, here's the old tripe "you're not a real fan, go back to arsenalmania" shut up. The standard reply from Ange in clowns.

I'm far more of a Spurs fan than you, was a ST holder for years. I bet you don't even know where the stadium is.

I have standards, and Ange isn't even close to meeting them. Maybe you're the gooner, seeing as you seem happy with a manager who is delivering the worst league results in decades.

His comments about Tel and for months have been seemingly from a man who feels comfortable in his future at the club. It’s amazing (and not in a good way) considering the results. Imagine if we begin next season with him. I just don’t trust Levy to get any footballing decision correct.

Agree but I think he's just being bullish to be honest because we are still in the cups so he can blag it that it can still be a "special season". I can't see how Ange survives much longer with results as they have been. It isn't possible that a PL manager can keep losing and keep his job. It's actually amazing he is still here, but I think whilst we are still in all the cups, that is why he hasn't been sacked. Go out tonight and against Villa, and it's only Europe saving him. Unless he wins a cup, the season will have been diabolical and he'll be gone.

My main concern is Levy decides to go again with him for a third season. I just can't see how under Ange we are on the verge of getting it right and becoming a dominant team. We've been miles off it. There is no sign of any improvement, in fact we've been getting worse.

A win in Europe with the kids scoring and against Brentford and two new signings have I think made people forget what a sorry state we are in. There's nothing wrong with fans trying to create and embrace some optimism right now, 100%. But I think it's just glossing over things.

Just imagine, tonight - we play poorly and get battered, Danso looks shaky, Tel doesn't make any impact whatsoever. I mean it could easily happen, and we are back to asking just what the hell are we doing with Ange here.

I really hope Tel looks great and scores, we win, and Danso looks like a rock.

Maybe it will turn out that Ange will do well in the cups, but is a terrible PL manager. I'd still sack him asap as soon as all the cups are finished.

Not sure I agree that his comments are like that at all. Watch the last PC for example. He says he lives in the real world and knows that job security doesn't exist and it's results that matter. He's been cracking jokes with Moose and Ali Gold for weeks now asking if they still support him. Also said that he doesn't make decisions based on the pressure he's under in his job and makes decisions based on whats best for the football club regardless of whether he's here to reap the rewards or not.

He does, but it would also be a bit weird if he didn’t act like he was here for the long haul.

What sort of message does that say to the players?!

You going to Bust a vessel speaking to people who woke up Yesterday to accidentally find the TV on Football. They have no knowledge what a true FC is about.

They can bust every one of Beyonce's rhymes in their sleep. They Love Organ Vegan Burgers and Alcohol free Organic Grain Beer. They believe that NFL world champions are actually world Champions, forgetting almost no other country plays the game and they have only one or two plays that actually kick the ball. They Love the Look of The Tottenham Stadium, especially the rainbow banners that sometime drape all over. They drool over Levy's bank statement and get aroused by the fact that we are 9th on Deloitte's rankings.

It's a Sad state of affairs but That's the way it is.
