Also, most people aren’t criticising the players, MOST people are criticising the manager.

He knows that as well but by using the players as a shield and saying “Don’t be critical of them” he’s trying to shut down criticism of the performances, which HE is at fault for because of HIS system.

Porro is mate. Look at his positioning first goal. Way too forward. Kinsky made a bad error but porro positioning is atrocious. Way too forward. Wingers are way too isolated as well and about 2 yards too apart from centre forward. It's too open. Position of players is borderline amateurish. Asking for trouble as playing a right back at left back. Straight away unbalanced team.
 
Does he get them to perform some of the most basic pressing drills on the training ground and call it a day? We have not been leaking goals for the last 18 months because our back 5 is outrageously error prone, but because we can't nip attacks in the bud due to this chaotic running around disguised as pressing. Teams no longer feel the need to sit back and hit us on the counter like they were doing in earlier days of Ange's tenure, because they have simply figured out how to carve us open. Romero and VdV -especially the latter- not being able to go out there and perform heroics week in and week out exacerbated our defensive woes, but the root causes have always been our piss poor team shape and pressing schemes.

Kinsky's howler was not even the worst thing about the first goal for example. Rodgers found himself WIDE open in the centre of the pitch (how?), started dribbling into the space in front of him, realized that out of nowhere FOUR people running at full speed appeared on the scene (why?) yet somehow there was a straightforward pass to make (again, how?). Ramsey received the pass, shot, and scored. All this happened inside the first minute of a football match by the way, not in the 89th minute when we were desperately chasing a match or something. And this is not a one-off occurrence, it's been happening under every imaginable circumstance for the last 18 months.

He's subtle blame shifting makes Mourinho look like an amateur. Has the entire media talking about injuries for months so avoiding any scrutiny and now its dont pick on my players likely knowing the media will do exactly that. He's a con artist. The Ali Dia of managers.

Wells must be longing to go back to Scott Parker at this point.

Parker may not be a perfect manager. But he's on a upward trajectory and will at least become one of those guys that becomes the go to for clubs that want to get promoted from the champo to the PL. Which is a very good role to have in football.
 
Deflecting criticism by hiding behind young players and guilt-tripping fans with “These 18/19-year-olds are doing their best, don’t you dare speak badly of them” is as cowardly as it gets, exactly what I’d expect from this gaslighting egomaniac.

The vast majority of criticism is aimed squarely at him, not the players. Yet, instead of addressing it head-on, he resorts to emotional manipulation and gaslighting to shield himself.

And as for the whole “It doesn’t bother me what people say about me” Of course it does. If it didn’t he wouldn’t be scrambling to dodge every ounce of scrutiny with this kind of transparent bullshit.

Such a grifter and he’s doing a real con job at this football club.

Can’t stand him.

Explain why we had no energy in the first half after a 65 hour rest, then a 20 minute rest at HT after a hard 45 mins and they at least come out with energy and determination? Why can’t the manager motivate his team to go out there with energy and determination from the start?
