I see what you're saying, as far as Post goes though with his fans he can't seem to lose no matter what, they'll shine his rim for taking us to a top 20 finish...

But you can't compare him and prospective successors in terms of the "no-lose scenario" thing, because it's not a case of asking him if he'd like to leave/stay, it's entirely beyond his control once the Jedi mind trick on Levy wears off. Whereas potential replacements can look at it and say no thanks.
The Jedi mind trick was probably convincing Levy he had a system that would generate goals without requiring a large payroll and get the fans entertained enough to stop criticizing him.

In that press conference the media’s line of questioning was trying to solicit a negative comment from Ange about the players performances hence him defending them and saying be critical of him, not the players.
At no point did the line of questioning criticise the players, Ange threw that in without prompting half way through his answer regarding the general status of injuries in the team.

The questions were incredibly light touch - Ange has built up a lot of goodwill with the journalists, getting clicks every time they report on his quips and 'Mates'.

I have a feeling that is about to change. He obviously doesn't want to talk about his own record (officially the worst Tottenham manager in history by many metrics). He doesn't talk about his tactics. He has always been very fragile when questioned about whether he is good enough for the prem.

At some point - likely this weekend if we lose - they will switch it up and hit his ego knowing he'll crack like an egg. The clicks that will generate will be too tempting.

Yep the one thing Daniel thinks about at night in the comfort of luxury is how to get under the skin of John Duncan.

Well in that case he’s failing; tell him to try harder; and even then he won’t manage it . I’ve done my bit in putting food on his table. I was happy to do so .

Please come back and tell me what he says.

It’s not often I get a direct line to the Man ; thank you for doing this .

Apologies if I’ve misunderstood anything.

For millionth of time - before ALL THOSE INJURIES HIT- WE WERE 10TH ON THE TABLE (!) having lost to Ipswich and Palace.

You have no leg to stand upon - we were shit in the very beginning of the season too.
Like we were at the end of last season with near full availability.

With all due respect, the following week we smashed Man City, and we were 3 points off 3rd; and just 4 behind 2nd. We had outplayed Leicester, Newcastle and Woolwich and those results really ought to have gone our way.

At this stage we had shown that the system was allowing us to dominate games and score lots of goals - but we were consistently being let down by individual errors - with Romero getting dragged out of position because our midfielders failed to track runners. Small improvements to the squad performance would certainly have put us comfortably in top 4 territory.

Anyone can beat City these days. And we haven't "outplayed" Woolwich this season. You are full of it.

A big IF as Yanited are looking worse than us!

All of their shots were in the 18 yard box / 6 yard box Vs only 67% of our shots within the 18 yard box and 33% outside the box.

Meaning they were more efficient, created the better chances and we struggled to break them down.

Yep. We were at home and the onus was on us as a team to score. They were very happy to soak up pressure and we never really worried them.

They then scored a set piece, which is probably exactly what they’d planned for. Doing pretty much exactly what your opponent wants isn’t outplaying them.

Despite many less shots, less possession etc our performance vs Liverpool in leg 1 was significantly better.

Our first choice back five have started 16 games
W 12 - D 1 - L 3 -GD +19

Just under 25% of AP games in charge
Don’t think it’s going to get much higher than 25% - VdV’s hamstrings can’t hold up on the strain of Ange-ball.

Ange-ball requires rotation and an ability to control the ball in the opponents half - otherwise you get injuries according to a sports scientist who worked with Ange at Celtic.

Levy has never given any manager quality beyond the first 11 - and we don’t have the technician player to dominate and keep the ball in an opponents half - meaning Ange-ball at Spurs = overworked players plus defenders sprinting back 60 yards over and over all equaling muscle injuries.

Interesting that the sports scientist mentions Chelsea and City as place Ange-ball would thrive. Obviously, Celtic is the City of the SPFL.

Ange had a ton of injuries in his first year at Celtic and two consecutive years of crisis level injuries with us - It’s not a coincidence and it’s not bad luck.

Read the article … it’s an interview with a guy who obviously respects Ange - he basically says our squad depth/quality of our squad is not good enough for Ange-ball - which is leading to injuries.

Let’s ignore that they beat us. Also if we have to take injuries as the reason we did not win later in the season the scum had one of their 4 key players out.

Sure, at the end of the match, the only thing that matters is the result.

But, what we saw was a young team that could dominate an established mature team and force them to sit in. They were unable to cope with our press, and were forced to surrender possession to us.

If we can get this squad back to full strengh again, I'm confident that our system will be a success.

Tend to agree with this.

We went into the season with a 23 man squad + our under 21's in Bergvall, Gray, Moore, Odobert. So, certainly not a small squad.

As for quality beyond the first 11, I think we have too much inexperience. Dragusin, Bergvall, Gray, Moore, Spence still very young players without Prem level experience. Our senior backups in Davies, Richarlison, Werner, Reguillon are clearly not the required quality.

We knew the squad would take a fair few windows to fix.

I think Ange's system relies on the ability to make use of the 5 substitutes to keep the intensity high, so losing an entire squad work of players means it's curtains.

He's not going anywhere this week, so let's see. We should be winning this weekend and a win against Ipswich following that is an absolute must.

Hypothetically, if we lose the next two will the staunchly Ange-in group switch sides?

He kept banging on about a 21 yr old GK. well he signed off on him. We had Austin who he could have played but won’t. I think Fraser is fit now as well. He chooses to Toni ahead of the other then complains his playing a 21 yr old. Ffs couldn’t make it up.
Sign lots of young players by choice, then complain you have young players

Revolting man

Oh it’s impossible to sign, say, a decent 25-30 y/o GK for £20m-£30m isn’t it? Impossble

I’m reserving my judgement until he gets a few games with a near full squad again. Bias aside, he should get to see the season out.

Again out of context. But it’s a common thread on here. He hasn’t signed only young players however unfortunately a lot of his senior players are injured so he has had to play the youngsters way more than he had anticipated.
