Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Can't think about better moment in the last 20 years for coming here as a new manager. You just do an average job and supporters will be quite happy for some time. Because they will have fresh memories of this AnAngemess.
However, you look through the threads on here and there are people saying Iraola, Frank and Glasner aren't good enough for this club.
They have their teams at 8th, 11th and 12th respectively, with what would be considered worse squads and resources than ours.
So people are already dismissing Iraola because he's 'only' got Bournemouth to 8th. Makes you wonder what the reaction would be if he only got Spurs to 8th next season....
The top 6 isn't going to be easy to crack into now with Villa and Newcastle pushing the top 4 even harder.
I'd say 7th or 8th would be reasonable for next season and hopefully build from there.

Levy doesnt care about winning cups. He sacked Jose and Juande regardless. He sacked Poch months after a CL final.
I don't think 'care' is the right word.

I think he simply isn't a football man so doesn't really know what he's doing and makes wrong choices as a result. Choices dictated by his knowledge around finances and cashflow and doesn't know how to identify managers that are worth taking a chance on, ala spend big for Poch after that UCL final - when budgeting and board meetings probably said otherwise.

Here's hoping that Vinai and Lange collectively are better at the football decisions and can leave DL to running the money side of the club.

I’m fine with sacking him.

I’d have done it after Liverpool in the CC, posted it as well.

But Matt Law knows nothing. If we win the EL, it’s still a massive ask to expect the club to sack him.

It’s an easy ask - he’s shite, prem teams beat us every week and winning the ropey league against teams who would be bottom half prem sides (or actually are in the case of United) shouldn’t save the frauds job.

We'll have no idea who we want in our scattergun approach and will chuck the net far and wide. Some will turn us down, some Levy wont want to pay their modest release clauses for and so then we will be left with those that agents push our way like with Ange. We'll then end up with one off this list. Can see it coming a mile off.

This is is why, IMO, he's not pulled the trigger yet, to mitigate the media circus.

The reality of winning the trophy will be different than the prospect of it.. It's easy to say he's gone no matter what, when it's just a concept. But in the midst of what would jubilant celebrations, the club will be staring down the barrel of sacking the manager who'd be in charge of our biggest trophy win since 1991. Even though that'd be the right decision, they'll envisage the storm from the media if that happens and the board'll bottle it. Like they bottle everything.

is he STILL here????
Look Down I Love Lucy GIF

Ange wont be here next season. Europa win or not. He will want to leave and the club will be happy to agree. The only thing an EL win means is a reasonably happy parting.

Ange has a style not suited to this club. He may well be shit coach and person. I don't know about the person part as I dont know the man. He is definitely not an idiot. He knows how to read a room for sure. He knows his time is up here. He also would know its better to leave as if own your own terms.

He will be here until the very end of the season. Every single PL thrashing and disaster included. It is clear for obvious reasons the club looks at the EL as the only game in town. This is of course assuming the semi final test is passed.

Look, it matters not how shit a coach he is. He is the coach and has been for almost two seasons. For better or worse He knows the players and they know him. I'm assuming we make the final.

You simply cannot get anyone in to coach a team for one game of crucial importance at this late stage. It would be madness! Ange is gone. More than a few players will be gone. All have a reason to want to win this thing.

I think we have a very real chance to win it. I assume we will be playing in a one off final game. Any thing can happen in that situation.

People getting worked up about a bloke who will soon be gone may as well be whistling in the wind for all that will come of it.

It is absolutely crazy limiting yourself to working so closely with one set of player agents.
